Dylan Smith, will he ever get a spot in your team?

He's a friend of mines cousin, and we talk about how he's going every now and again.
Now most games I watch him in, he doesn't really do too much wrong, he's a bit small, but is fearless, and his disposal is decent.
I thought maybe with Carr going down injured, this may have been his chance to really show his worth over the next few weeks, but he looks to me like he could be one of those players that just don't quite get the right oppurtunity at the right time. A bit harsh, as I thought being a number 6 pick in the draft, that he would have a fair bit about him. I don't think he's a late bloomer, just needs to be on a teams list where he will get more of a chance.
Could be good for Pagan's blues, maybe? Pagan was coaching the Kangaroos when they drafted him.

Cheers all,

Pat.

Got dropped following a very poor game v Essendon...couldn't kick ball further than 30m's, has a real skill deficiency in that area, otherwise he is a great in & under player...hopefully gets a game v Geelong in the wet

Yeah, I thought he might get a shot this week, given the forecast.
He is listed as an emergency though.
He was one of your best last time we played, but that game was a shocker from you guys.

If it is wet they gamble with Smith in and Big Bird out. The conditions will also suit Dunny. By all accounts he is lacking a lot of leg speed. If your are greg williams you can be slow. he ain't greg williams!!

Good judges who have been watching East freo this eason have him along way off being a top AFL player. Rembering the spin doctors had us believe he was a sensational pickup at # 10 in 2003

He might be yet. Hodge has only really come good this year (his third).

Embley took his time also so don't right him off yet.

He wasn't dual AA in the under 18's for nothing.

If his disposal was decent patdman he would be gauranteed a game every week. Still has something to offer though with his ball winning ability.

He travelled with the side and I'd be surprised if he doesn't play.

We loved him at the Roos and Arch always said he commitment was great to have around the club but his deficiencies size wise and the lack of penetration in his kicking are pretty major deficits.

He has beautiful clean hands and great skills other than kicking. It was great to see him redrafted and it would be great to see him succeed - unlike our resident pee heart Shane Harvey the guy puts in at training and is desperate to succeed.

Schammer, Bellie & Smith is too many midgits to have in the team at once.
Hihih, fair point.

I have always thought it would be hard for him to break into your midfield, but thought I had seen enough to think he shouldn't be tossed to the side by any chance, just wanted your guys opinion of him.

Ripper...who was dual AA u18? Embley or Smith (sorry don't know SFA about Embley)

Pat.
