Sier’s only Kennedy trait is his height. Kennedy was never a soft plodder who couldn’t tackle and struggled to get 10 disposals as a full time inside midfielder. 2021 is Sier’s sixth season and he isn’t getting games in the shallowest midfield in the game. In JPK’s sixth season he was an All-Australian and the best player in a premiership side.

God I love how much crap some Collingwood supporters give Sier.

"couldn't tackle"
Averages 3.8 tackles a game in the AFL (Career average)
Averages 6.0 in the VFL (2021)
If you take out the last game where injured early then he averaged 7.0 per game.

"struggled to get 10 disposals"
Averages 16.4 a game in the AFL (Career average)
Averages 24.0 in the VFL (2021)
Averages 28.2 in the VFL (2021 Excl. inj. game)

"full time inside midfielder"
Never given a go as a full time midfielder in the AFL. Constantly around 60-70% time on ground

Lay off the guy.

You're presenting me with VFL stats for a player who is in his sixth season... need I say more? 3.8 tackles a game for an inside mid is pretty slack. Some rucks average greater than that. 16.4 disposals is comically low for a guy who is huddled around contested ball all game. And those numbers are inflated by his 2018 form which is so long ago that it's no longer relevant. I'm not sure how it's possible to get as little of the football as he has every time he's played in the last two seasons.

He absolutely is a full time inside midfielder; he's never played in any other role. Any shortcomings on time on ground % is his fault because of his poor tank.

Face it; the spud fairy came down and kissed him on the cheek circa June 2018 and gave him 12 games to become a premiership hero for Collingwood. Ever since he's been awful, and will continue to be.

I see any player who makes it to play any AFL games as a very good footballer. No every AFL player can be a future hall of famer.

At the same age Jarryd Lyons was averaging 13.3 disposals a game and 2.5 tackles.

I guess Lyons is a spud too right.

Anyway that is all for me. I'll let this thread get back on topic with Dylan Stephens.

Mate he's an absolute spud. Plodder is being too kind for him.

I'm amazed he's been on the list this long.

Stephens to Adelaide Sydney future fourth to Adelaide
lipinski and Adelaide future second to Sydney
adelaide 2021 third and Sydney 2021 third to bulldogs

I don't think where you sign is the issue...it's where Dylan signs that's the deciding factor.
Yeah think I conceded as much in a previous post, players have all the power...

Realistically trading only works because clubs generally try to not screw each other too much, but we are seeing examples like Carlton for Martin, in recent years, where even than convenant is being broken.

I still wouldn't be jumping at a future 2nd... with us also giving our 3rd and 4th

I reckon he is off to Collingwood or Adelaide, Would be weird seeing him in a pies jumper given he was a Carlton fan before afl

Onya Rob
I still reckon its likely that he ends up at a new club but there was no way he requested a trade that early after a finals exit
Not so sure, personally. We rate him really highly, and he seems to love the club so I doubt he walks. I don't think anyone will offer enough to satisfy how highly we rate him. Plus, if Hewett goes, it probably opens up more opportunities for him as an inside midfielder, which is his ideal position.

His one that could go is probably a better way to say it, They rate him highly and he will come around, I hope he stays, Its great to see a Mildura boy in the AFL, I just want people to stop saying he will go to Adelaide because he is "South Australia". The only reason he would go to the crows is for opportunity not because he is South Australia, because he isn't, He is technically from Victoria, His parents live in Victoria, He only went to Adelaide for boarding school. Want to see him do well, my uncle coached him at Red Cliffs so it would be good to see him nail a spot down

Need to somehow keep. He'll be making his mark soon enough. Quality.
Chicken or the egg this kid. Did he let it slip around the traps that he wanted to head south, and hence not get played.... or does he now want to head south coz he wasnt being played.

Wants to stay in sydney by most accounts, Maybe opportunity could intice him somewhere else

I mean wouldnt it be a chance cause they have Pick 2 :s. Just sucks that Collingwood have no picks this year
He's not going to walk to the PSD. If he hypothetically did, Collingwood would take him, yes, but he won't. Players will only walk to the PSD if they're desperate to leave. Stephens wants to stay, just wants more opportunities. He loves the club, so wouldn't **** us over like that. There will be a trade, or he will stay. No PSD.
