Re: Dynasty #1 - DISCUSSION - Part 2

People better not veto if the trade just means there chances of the championship are effected, eg i might trade Owens to someone for a young WR because i am out of the hunt and looking long term, teams in the division where Owens is going shouldnt veto because their chances are now affected

Personally 9/12 vetoes should be needed, much like changes to league rules
I agree. 9/12 is a strong swing.

And btw... how does David Patten, Mustangs pick. 322 slip so far down the list??? d'brees (former Mustang bust) has to throw to someone else other than Colston... what were you guys thinking??? :D

We were thinking he is 34 come Week 1 and this is a dynasty and there are young guys like Meachem and Arrington snapping at his heels, didnt slip at all, personally wouldnt touch him

Re: Dynasty #1 - DISCUSSION - Part 2

Well I can change it at any time thru the season, and I dont think that's a problem. it's not like an OP change.

So 7/12 now, can be 9/12 later, or LM ONLY votes, if there's any big stink during the season.

And that trade you outlined above Dspeed is not fair. I would say no to that if you're trading Owens for Bobby Sippio just before the playoffs, to a team in the playoffs. If you're gonna do stuff like that then I'll change it now to LM ONLY votes.
firstly it was hypothetical and secondly not that unfair, Owens is 34, may well only have 1 season left, i might think i wont challenge in 09 and should get some youth, i might trade for a guy like Devin Thomas or whoever that appears to have a bright future, trades in a dynasty league must be treated differently to trades in a seasonal league, not saying id do it, but wouldnt be totally unbalanced

Considering he is the no. 1 CB in the Giants (Who will be passed on, given that is their weakness at CB)

McQuarters - 31
Madison - 34

Cromartie had 24 tackles + 4 PDs in his first year
Ross had 42, 9 PDs, 1.5 sacks, 3 INTs

Though he has been starter whilst Crow wasn't...

Anyway, i'm happy :) Underestimate him at your will

Meacham, Henderson, Copper, Arrington, Bush, Karney, McAllister/Thomas/Stecker, Johnson, Miller will all get looks. In fact I'd be surprised if they all didn't score at least 1 reception TD this year if they all get through camp.

More dependable than a bust rookie (Meecham) and I'm not saying Arrington is going to be a bust but with 4k+ season by Brees, you'd have to say Patten is close to a pushing around 800-1000 and that's great value for a 34 year old. :thumbsu:

That's my Mustangs done for WR's. **dusts off hands**

Patten is a good pick in a PPR league.

Might not have too many 100+ games but he'll have plenty of 5+ reception games (if he's fit)

ah, yeh, ok, good luck with that mate, in 11 years his max yardage is 824, i reckon 600 is a generous prediction

Owens straight up for say Sippio is unfair. Especially if he's got 1 or 0 more seasons. Especially if youre giving him to a team in the playoffs.....meaning they're benefiting with Owens to win the BFDL championship.

If you wanted to offload Owens, the team would have to give you multiple players back, not just Sippio, in order to start reaching fairness.

Anyway, currently the rule is now 9/12 required to veto.

That's what I based it on.. one of the better options left over with a gun slinger in the ol' pocket..

I know I've reached my WR limit gg.. no guessing where my points are coming from.

Sippio isnt he the Arena football guy?

Anyway, if i wanted to go Owens to Thomas who had showed a bit in his rookie season and Owens only had 1 year left i would be entitled to

What about this? Last year a guy might have Favre on his dynasty team, a top 5 QB. He is out of contention in 07, would he not be entitled to trade Favre to a playoff team for a younger QB such as Campbell, Schaub, Rodgers even. That is just good management. It may help the playoff team, but in the long run it helps my team. I dont think that sort of thing could be vetoed.

Night all. This old bastard's going to bed.

gg's got my next two picks. If they're gone gg, feel free to make a pick for me from either of the positions I've nominated. A 'lucky-dip' pick for me.

I'll be back online sometime between 2-4am and I'll expect to be dazzled. :)

Sippio yes AFL guy.
As for fair trading, Owens being traded for Sippio is questionable, but a big red flag gets thrown when you're out of the playoffs and the other trade partner is in the playoffs.
Regardless, Owens in a trade would require multiple picks to equate value.
Sippio alone would be nothing but raw unbridled potential.
Thomas? Devin Thomas? It's still not a fair trade.
It would be something like 1 for 3 players to reach fairness.
