Re: Beta Dynasty - DISCUSSION

This trade isnt so lopsided that gg should outright be saying NO, it aint the carolina smith, its the giants smith, Ward is arguably passed it, Smith hasnt shown all that much, Marshall arguably a top 5 WR this year and for many years, if sleepy wants to give away a bit to get a guy he loves why not, dont think you are treating this too well tbh gg, at least look at it for a while before flatly refusing it

Re: Beta Dynasty - DISCUSSION

It means that people who fall in love with a guy are unable to pay over the odds to get them, Marshall is a freak player, could be anything, especially as Cutler is a great young QB, he has given up an oldish reciever on the way down, a 2nd year WR who is probably rated higher then he should be based on 1 or 2 games (playing devils advocate), 2 crapshoots and a future pick, i dont see how it is such an open and shut case for a few ppl here

Thanks for saying that - BUT HONESTLY CAN WE PLEASE JUST DROP IT?
Lets move on #### me dead. I made a mistake, the trades not going to happen, so lets just move on. :thumbsu:

Nah, its still lopsided with the Giants Smith.

The rules dont just exist to stop collusion, its also to stop people with no clue (not saying you Sleepy) ruining the league by making stupid trades, and giving the recipient too much, unbalancing the league. Case in point the drama in the BFFFL last year regarding this...

Re: Beta Dynasty - DISCUSSION

Take the players out of it, its as if sleepy traded up to get Marshall

He gave up picks in rounds 8, 12, 29 and 30 and future 1st for a 3rd round pick now, sure he may have payed over the odds to get that 3rd, but some people may view 29th and 30th picks as simply quantity added instead of quality, the equivalent of chucking spare part players to real NFL trades. The only part that raises your eye brows is the future first rounder, without that IMO its a clear YES, even with it i think it is fine, sleepy obviously loves Marshall, why cant he choose to give a bit to get him, anyway, not my league, so in the end what i say doesnt really matter, but would hate to see a trade i am involved in shot down so adamantly by gg in such a fashion if both parties wanted it

BFFFL is different, the rule is only in collusion, as all people are deemed to be knowledgable

To be honest, in a dynasty draft requiring depth, that many picks being traded seems drastically uneven to me still. In a non dynasty league picks in the 29s and 30s might be filler, they arent really in this one. Every player is important.

I do see where you're coming from, and it is dangerous grounds when peoples competition are the ones who determine whether or not they are allowed to make a trade... we've all got a vested interest.

Re: Beta Dynasty - DISCUSSION

It is 9 of 12 must vote NO yeh? or 9 of 12 must vote YES? Late at night, tour de france time of year, bit confused, which one is it, because doesnt take much to get 4 people say NO, eg a rival, someone who doesnt like someone else etc, people arent meant to vote based on these things but it his human nature and will happen

Re: Beta Dynasty - DISCUSSION

I'll just feel sick for sleepy if Marshall turns out to be one of the top fantasy WRs this year and for a decade, in a years time this trade could make sleepy look like a genius

I would assume, as the veto is the extreme action, 9 must vote in favour of a veto.

If hes that desperate to get him, youd think theyd be able to work out a fair and balanced trade.

Thats what i was thinking, but all of a sudden you only need a guy like me and one other saying it is fair and it goes through, as the two traders will obviously say yes

which i think is fair enough actually, if two other people endorse it then it probably should be allowed

Putting a bit of faith in people that they will act fairly and vote simply on the basis of the trade and not how it affects their team

GG, i think this trade has to be put to the league, unfair for you to say no immediately, they negotiated, obviously took some time to do it, the league should vote on it, i realise you have taken a lot of time in setting this up and all of that, but in the end you arent in this league

Im reasonably sure we arent allowing the trading of next years draft picks at this point, so the trade falls down at that point, vetoed or not.

But thats the whole point, sleepy obviously wanted him, fallen in love with the guys ability, they have negotiated back and forth, thats the best deal sleepy got, he wouldnt have just offered that first up and it been done, he would have offered less, but juddy woulda wanted more, sleepy loved him enough to offer more, juddy is unlikely to give him up cheap

In the end we want active people and lots of trading, i just think you start to discourage trading a bit, its a dynasty and people will generally be less likely to trade as they could end up being burnt for a decade rather then just one year, in order to give up players they will need a bit more in return, thats how i view it anyway

Re: Beta Dynasty - DISCUSSION

Im changing the rule to 7 needed for veto.

Why?

Because there's only 12 in the league. The 2 people making a trade cant vote. So that'd be 9/10 needed to say no. Which is the wrong balance.

7/10 is.

id say it is allowed, why not? they do it in the nfl, we want this to replicate the nfl as much as possible

I think 9/10 is fine, the whole point is that a trade must be really bad, 9/10 indicates that, leave it, or put it to a vote...and yeh, im serious

Re: Alpha Dynasty - DISCUSSION - Part 2

The end is nigh, great effort from everyone, certainly didn't expect to whip through this so quickly.

Koutouvides could be a nice pick for you Cassius. He was a special teams star at the Seahawks and is probably going to be the starting 'Mike' at Denver. Good sleeper candidate, if you can have one on D...
Yeah, I thought why not? 5th LB, worth a punt.

JUst got back hospital albeit a bit sore  Cheers GG for waiting and well done for organising everything so far. Top job.

Re: Beta Dynasty - DISCUSSION

I might aswell ask - Can me and judy take this trade to the league and see how the voting goes/if it gets passed?
If not, yet again i'd understand but there's not much to lose on just seeing the leagues stance on it.
