Hi all,

With footy season having unfortunately been put on hold for a little while, we're looking at being a little creative to have some fun and try fill the void.

As a result, BF will be running a simulated AFL season using the Qooty program - created by Mobbs.

If you are at all familiar with the SFA league, you will know what this program is. If not, please have a read of this thread posted on the main board as an introduction:

https://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/afl-season-to-be-rebooted-in-simulation.1237892/

I have decided to throw my hat into the ring and will be coaching Carlton - but I need your help! And this is how you can help:

1) We want to be the best represented club on the MB. Each of our games will have their own thread and we have license to have a bit of fun in there. We're on the MB so MB rules will still apply, but we're having a bit of fun with it so banter is absolutely encouraged.

2) Team selection. R1 is being simmed using the actual teams named for last week's opening round, but thereafter it is completely up to us. In the lead up to each game I will ask for selection recommendations, and if you have any thoughts or ideas please make them heard. Note - the game has 2 on the bench rather than the 4 we're used to.

3) I haven't cleared this with Aphrodite yet - but thinking it might be a nice idea to get those who had volunteered to write game previews to do so. The fixture isn't the same, so we can go by the week you had chosen, or the club if that is the preferred method. Very much open to suggestions here.

We're opening the season against North Melbourne, hopefully the boys can get us off to a nice start. You can find the match thread here:

Our R1 match is against North Melbourne,

I have put my hand up to coach Carlton and will be looking for Our first match is against the Dockers and you can find the match thread here

https://www.bigfooty.com/forum/thre...dium-saturday-28th-march-6-30pm-aedt.1238018/

Each week there will be 2 rounds played. At the end of the 'season', a premiership will be won, and the Brownlow, Coleman and Norm Smith medals will be awarded.

Times are tough for many at the moment, and footy brings joy (or misery) to a lot of us, so let's have a bit of fun with this.

Go Blues!

I mean it has to be better than no footy. And as someone who takes my AFL Evolution players' careers seriously I could probably get invested in the results. Lol.

Ladies and gents, we have found ourselves a rage quitter. :p

A close loss to start the season, unfortunately. Had our chances but just couldn't make them count.

Clearly we struggle to play in front of an empty stadium, whereas North are used to it.

Bring on R2 - suggested changes welcomed.

Not my cup of tea but anything that can bring entertainment to people atm is a positive.

Won't follow the simulations but I'll follow the results Jeremias. Good luck 👍

Who have we got in the reserves we can call on next match?
