Same here. When my aunt moved overseas, we got stuck with selling her car (as she didn't sell it before she left). Took over a year to sell it on Carsales.com.au (not helped by the fact it took them 3 months to update my contact details when I changed ISP's).

When Dad wanted to sell his car, we put it up on both Carsales and Gumtree. Someone responded to the Gumtree ad and it was sold within the week. I suspect if we'd only used Carsales it would still be on the market.

Ebay is a life safer. Gumtree is very handy have purchased some top quality second hand machinery from there.

I wasn't suggesting Gumtree as the only alternative - if we're talking new items, there are better deals to be had than from EBay

This'll be easy to prove... find me a Maverick ET-732 for less than $58.11 or a Garmin 405CX with HR monitor for less than $193. I personally hope you are right as I am always willing to change tact for a bargain but I severely doubt it.
