Saw some of the videos, underwhelming to say the least. All the games shown look like crap (as in like Wii counterparts). The movie controls thing looks interesting, but what happens if you want to scratch your nose, not rewind?

All in all MS better wish they have somthing awesome for tommorows presentation.

EDIT: Some reactions

http://www.destructoid.com/e310-our-kinect-reactions-the-video-176297.phtml
Haha, Jim Sterling.

Rey: What would you like to see tomorrow on stage?
Jim Sterling: Cirque Du Soleil burned alive.

Wow... what an embarrassment for MS. This is the "Giant enemy crab" all over again:)
LOL can I change my choice for favourite E3 moment?:D

At least Move is being shown fully working and there's absolutely no smoke and mirror shit at work. This is terrible.

As I said earlier too, looks like a shit line-up for Kinect (horrible name BTW, not to mention basically plagiarised. Natal is worlds better, even if it is pronounced Nataaaal). The soccer game has potential I guess out of all, but really that won't be near FIFA quality and the only chance of it being is for Kinect to have FIFA integrated. And I highly doubt that Joyride will be anything close to Mario Kart (although I get the "comparison"). This whole thing is collapsing before Microsofts' eyes. The only thing that will save them at the moment would be for them to give it away as I don't see many buying this at all.:o

I'll be watching the show tonight/tomorrow morn' so will be good to see if they can dig themselves out of this absolute mess.

After seeing the demo videos with the oh-so-happy family making utter twat's of themselves, I just want to see something that looks like it would play better than the Wii does now. I'm just shocked that a collective group of people came to the conclusion that this was a good idea.

Was looking at a leaked video of it and it mostly looks crap. Star Wars thing looks alright though.

Its not looking good for 'Kinect' (shit name by the way).

All in all Move probably won't be that impressive either, but then again I wasn't really expecting it to be.

EDIT: Heres the vid, you can really tell that in some instances the actual game is moving before the person. :thumbsd:

In more disappointing news. Rare, one of the best developers of years past have been relegated to making the Sports mini-games for Kinect Sports (which has 150ms of lag compared to Move's 22ms on top of your TV's ms lag).

Rare made the flagship sports game for Microsoft's Kinect, CVG has been informed.

The title was demo'd for the first time in Los Angeles today, at Microsoft's rather bizarre 'Experience' E3 event.

As revealed earlier, Kinect Sports boasts six activities including boxing, bowling, beach volleyball, track and field, football and table tennis.
What the **** is Microsoft's issue with giving Rare a title that will send them back to the olden days of their brilliant titles like Donkey Kong, Conkers Bad Fur Day, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, etc.?? They are slowly killing Rare and it's brutal to see. Maybe Bungie going multiplat and not doing Halo anymore will kick Microsoft into action and give Rare the chance to create a new IP to rule the world again?

On the other side of all things motion. IGN have given Move a glowing review for their 2 hour preview time on it.

IGN editors Ryan Clements and Greg Miller have been waiting, and they just finished a nearly two-hour, private PlayStation Move demo. What they saw put the PlayStation Move on their hot lists, and they want to tell you why they're finally excited for Sony's next big thing.

"Greg Miller: So, Ryan, I was caught off guard tonight. I never hated the PlayStation Move, but after this evening's event, I'm actually really excited about it"

"Ryan Clements: Well, you're absolutely crazy, but I'm going to have to agree with you here. When I first tried the PlayStation Move tech out at the Game Developers Conference in March, I was totally unimpressed. The software just wasn't there. But now, the hardware is accurate and some of the games are actually a blast."

"Greg Miller: See, that's what I dug about SOCOM 4 -- the accuracy. When I was pressed up against a car for cover, popped out, and was able to use the Move to target a bad guy's foot behind a car, I was sold. It was quick and accurate. I don't know if I could've lined that shot up as easily with a DualShock."

"Ryan Clements: No lag that I could notice, but I only played the two events. I mean, the character animations aren't going to win any awards, but when it comes to the raw gameplay, that's where I felt satisfied.

I totally forgot to mention this, but I got super-excited when I saw you doing the tech demo portion of the event, where you could create shapes in real 3D by moving your hands around on screen. That was some Minority Report level stuff, man. It blew my mind. Imagine controlling a super-sleek interface of some futuristic war machine like that.

I think I just blew up my brain."

Ok, take two. Hope this one doesn't get taken down :o.
New Star Wars: The Old Republic Cinematic Trailer
And it's pretty epic!

Easily beats TFU2 trailer.

Microsoft's conference is about to start. Will update as it goes...

Wow, very underwhelming show. Gears looks good, as does Black Ops. Rising had barely anything shown. Fable was too hard to hear so no idea what that's about. Halo Reach looked average (I'm sure the MP would be fantastic though). Crytek exclusive could be genuinely good, but who knows. Star Wars Kinect game is quite simply the ONLY thing to look forward to in regards to Kinect, all the other stuff was terrible and REALLY BAD! No idea what that Turn 10 thing was about. New XBOX 360 Slim coming this week with 250GB Hard Drive and Wi-Fi (to catch up to the competition).

No announcement on how much Kinect would be though, which is interesting. Looks now that it will be a big price.

Very poor show overall. Would give it around about a 5/10 (and quite honestly, that is reaching for it, the Kinect stuff was truly deplorable and I hope to wipe it from my memory forever). Not good.

Here's how it went (since there's so much I'll highlight the actual interesting stuff):
  • Call of Duty: Black Ops first up getting walkthrough from Treyarch leader. Cool looking little mission...cut gameplay due to "the interests of time"...now onto a more epic situation where you get into a heli and start blowing shit up, moving through some awesome looking environments.
[*]First announcement is a 3 year exclusive deal for all DLC on Call of Duty games somewhat like the MW2 exclusive DLC. I believe it will be timed stuff.
[*]Hideo Kojima out on stage now, no doubt to talk about MGS: Rising. If you can understand him then I congratulate you "Radies and Genterman". And now Kojima is off for another guy who can't speak Engrish!
[*]Footage of MGS: Rising now. Raiden will be the main character, no Snake. Gameplay footage being shown, destructible environments everywhere, cutting through everything like butter (buildings and cars) now he's cutting up watermelon...
[*]From this point on is exclusive to the 360.
[*]Cliffy B on now for Gears 3 stuff. 4 player co-op to be shown. Plenty of action, vibrant jungle environments with HUGE bosses. New mode called "Beast" to be introduced.
  • Peter Molyneux on now to bullshit (:p) about Fable 3. October 26 release date (don't know if that's been known before or not?). Showing a trailer now, impossible to hear the audio.
[*]Crytek game now (will be 360 exclusive)...called "Codename Kingdoms" (or maybe "Kingdoms"?). Only live action shown, no footage of anything gameplay. Looked like a Spartan/Gladiator type of thing, maybe something in the vein of God of War?
  • Halo Reach trailer now. You get to fly a spacecraft. Have to say (gonna get flak) but that was a pretty dull trailer.
  • Some other guy comes out with his mic russling...a minute later a woman hands him a mic, pretty lol! He's talking about Kinect now and it's "Minority Report" like ability. Showing off the stuff, you have to wave to sign in and wave to get to the overall 'control hub', you can speak for a program to come up (no real way to tell if this is legit really though). Will be good to see some genuine hands on. Showing off Alice in Wonderland movie and saying "XBOX PAUSE" "XBOX PLAY" will stop and play movie. Saying "XBOX MUSIC" will bring up music to listen too.
  • XBOX Live being brought to Windows Phone 7 (do we have this?) and can do stuff that you do on XBOX Live.
  • Video Kinect being shown now. A chat room type thing, can connect up to Windows Live Messenger via webcam like chats. An extremely real and non-fake chat coming up now...some fantastic banter between these girls...so realistic, did I mention that? Anyway, you can view videos and stuff through it and Kinect can track the person who you're chatting to automatically so you don't have to move it.
  • ESPN on XBOX Live (no idea where this will translate over the world, in particular for us Aussies). SportsCenter presenters boring the crowd now...
  • Now the douche who showed us the back of his shoe last year...still looking as douchey as he did last year. Must be bright inside that building, cause he has sunnies on........!
  • 6 Kinect games being revealed now. Same as the one's announced earlier today I believe.
  • Kinectimals being shown and god is this shit...we have a young girl acting as if she's having fun with the game. Looks like all pre-recorded stuff too (the in-game stuff anyway), was showing her hands in different places to where they really were. Now it's apparently more than just a video game as the tiger was licking the screen and the girl said "that tickles"...
  • Kinect Sports now. Showing off some crappy crowd rousing techniques. Now onto Hurdles, something glitched and they had to fix it. Now they're running like idiots on the stage. The actual crowd at E3 isn't reacting much at all to this dross. Very embarrassing stuff so far. Now a quick montage, shows off very Wii looking titles (and I mean graphically Wii). Soccer game is arcadey, a few olympic things too.
  • Joyride being shown now (apparently will "redefine the racing genre"). More shitty footage with an incredibly annoying girl playing. Crowd couldn't care less, douche presenting loves it though.:p
  • Now is Kinect Adventures now, showing off A DIRECT rip off of a Wii game (for the life of me I can't remember which though, I think it's one of the fitness games). A photo thing captures you jumping around like an idiot while doing this (if you want...IF YOU WANT...you can add them to Facebook). Now a river rafting game with more annoying women...STFU PLEASE!!! Some glitchy gameplay showing players jumping around and moving when they're not doing that.
  • Your Shape: Fitness Evolved trailer shown, made by Ubisoft. Lag is HUGE (looking like nearly 1 full second). Incredibly boring stuff, so sorry if I don't get anything of this down. This is bad. FINALLY IT ENDS!
  • Oh god. Now we have Dance Central on...HAHAHAHA THIS IS ****EN SHOCKING!!!! Oh god, kill me now! Some chick dancing around the place, obviously knows what she has to do, so it's giving absolutely no representation as to how the game will be played. Now we've got a "n00b: on talking about their tutorial system. HAHAHAHA OH JEEZ WOW! THIS IS BRILLIANT COMEDY! NOW 3 IDIOTS ARE UP AND DANCING! HAHAHAHAHAHA!
[*]Kinect release date November 4. 15 launch titles.
[*]Exclusive Lucasarts game to be a Star Wars game launching in 2011. Finally something good. He says that this is actual feed gameplay, but that's bullshit. Looks alright though and has a ton of potential. Although the enemies have a terrible death animation.
  • Turn 10 on now. Showing off a racing game, looks like Forza 3. Can drive using your hands. Forza 3 compatibility it seems? Showing off a showroom type of feature, where you can look at a car and you touch things and it highlights stuff and gives it info. Now you get into the car and have a look around from in there. Hmm, I really didn't understand that, was it Forza 3 or not? It said "Coming 2011" so is it just this crappy showroom thing? I dunno they didn't actually mention to us exactly what it is.
[*]XBOX Slim announced. 250GB, built in Wi-Fi (FINALLY!). Costs the same as one of the models I guess? (he said it would cost the same, but I didn't hear or know if he said which one) Releasing this week. Buying off the crowd by giving everyone the console, wait for the glowing reviews to come in now...
  • ALL OVER

It is indeed.

When is Sony's announcements by the way?
Sony's is 5am tomorrow (wednesday). Won't be on Foxtel though, will have to find a stream if you're willing to stay up for it.

...I'm finding this mighty underwhelming so far.

God I hope Sony's is good.
It's absolutely terrible. These demo's have been laughable at best.

The best stuff so far has been Gears 3 by an absolute ****ing mile (COD: Black Ops was pretty good too actually). Nothing else is doing much for me at the moment. Not boding well when we have about 20 minutes left! Nothing but boring so far.

Gotta agree HBK. The last 20 minutes especially have been terrible. The Kinect stuff looks shit, especially the platform adventure one...was goddamn horrid. This fitness thing is lame. Fable 3 looked...underwhelming. Halo was same ol' same ol'.

Gears of War did look quite good though yes.

It's amazing how much

a) nerve some of the presenters have "this will revolutionise your relationships," "we'll put you in a sporting event like never before"
b) the crowd don't care
c) some of the natal features are pretty much just those light clap gadgets from the 90s in a console.

Yep definitely agree. Fable 3 might've been alright if the ****en sound was up! Stupid bloody trailer where you don't even get what's saying. But this has been a terrible conference.

Haha. The crowd has been so silent, usually you get a few big cheers and stuff. The crowd has been silent apart from about 3 times.
um, why am I watching a women doing calisthenics?? Isn't this a gaming conference?
HAHAHHA and now we got them dancing about! HAHAHAHA
