LOL...Nintendo still made money off the Gamecube while everyone was pirating playstation games.

Playstation 2 sold 140 million world wide, Gamecube sold about 20-25 Million world wide. Who do you think has made more money?

The Wii and the DS caught on, were innovative but the WiiU just seems silly. People are used to good capasitive multitouch displays, not resistive crappy screens with a stylus.
 
The only reason I bought a Wii was to play Zelda and Mario. I don't think even those titles will get me to buy this WiiU.

Nintendo would be so much better if they just stuck to the basics and stopped trying to make gaming difficult.

I don't want my controller to be a tablet. I don't want to have to move my body to play games. Very unimpressed.

Dunno, i kind of like it but that controller doesn't look very ergonomic. Cant see myself playing something for hours on end with that design. Its definitely not going to work with Tekken :o

Hopefully a regular controller is released (not the classic controller *yuck*) or the hardcore will avoid this like the plague and then the 3rd party support will drop off.

I'm glad devs are on board with this, Nintendo deserve it but hopefully they don't get lazy and give us shovelware

Ghost recon online looks like absolute garbage, looks like Ubisoft is starting the WiiU shovelware train.

Worst part of Nintendos conference was now i wanna get a 3DS and a PSP Vita.........FFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUU and your awesome games coming out for it Nintendo :p

It will domiate, quite a few people who have seen it in action have said its an incredible piece of technology. Not as innovative as the WII but with HD, Option of using the tablet as a screen rather then the tv (stolen off sony yeah) and bringing over some third party games its obvious Nintendo have market dominance with the console but they are trying to target people who purchased the ps3/xbox360 for the HD aspect of it
 
I'd be surprised if they didn't release a standard controller for people who like things simple.

Either way, I'll still probably get it, primarily for Smash Bros, Zelda etc.

Yeah I know that, one of the reasons the GC failed was parents couldn't buy cheap games for it like the PS2 were you could get burnt games for next to nothing. The GC also had a shitty line up of 3rd party games.

Just look at the PS3. 50 million sold and Sony still arn't making money yet.

Is this a case of "my mates did this"

I have a lot of friend with a PS2 and only 1 has a chip in the ps2...

PS3 is now at the stage Sony is at bare minimum breaking even with each console, probably now making 20 bucks on the console. Overall they havn't made money on the PS3, but their last few financial reports the Playstation brand has been making money. PS3 was a falure due to a crap launch and too expensive and it is still trying to live that reputation down.

Well shame we haven't actually seen what this console can do. The orchestra playing Zelda tunes was all well and good but they didn't back it up with real footage of anything.

Rockstar rarely show at E3.

Expect them to announce it in their own time.
 
I've heard word that one of the "Super Surprise Sequels" tomorrow is Star Wars: Battlefront 3.
It's seem more just a hope then a solid rumor, but hey, we can all hope for it.
There is two of these super surprise sequels, but apparently Valve aren't even there, so it's not HL ep3.
if it does turn out to be BF3 though.... best game ever.


Personally, i can't go past Skyrim as game of E3 by a long way right now. I'll admit, i haven't seen anything about Uncharted, nor do i care as i don't have a PS3, but with the amount of detail they have shown, and how much i loved Obliv and Morrowind... wow, could really live up to their 300+ hour expectation

edit: another thing i forgot to mention. After that, i can't see the next xbox coming out until 2014. Theres no way Microsoft are going to make another big Halo game to be released, essentially in 2013, if theres another console coming out

Yeah I'm pumped for Skyrim. I love how they don't develop it just as a RPG.

I damn hope your right about Battle Front. I could imagine the massive mp games.

God, that has to be the worst console announcement I have ever seen.

Did they just say "Hey, maybe we should just tack on the announcement of our new console towards the end there?"

"Oh Ok, I guess. Just remember to give enough time to the Pokedex and montage of old Zelda games."

If the conference was all you had heard, you might think that all Nintendo is releasing is an updated controller with a screen. We saw very little of the actual console during the conference.

Listening to an interview with Reggie who is just harping on about how the console is 1080p, which should be expected, so there's no need to say it. Well, yes, Reggie - when your console has been lagging well behind the others for the last 5 years in terms of graphics, you do need to say it.

They spent so much time on the 3DS and other crap, it just seemed like their new console, which they should have been parading was an afterthought. Did they actually want to show it?

E3 has been pretty shitty overall this year. Sony surprised with the price of their handheld and the Wii U does look like it could be good, they just botched the conference badly, but nothing else has really stood out, just the same games we knew were coming.

Also, there are some franchises I love but are getting tiresome really fast. Nintendo haven't made a decent new IP in...a long time. How many times can you re-do Mario Kart? They just keep on touting the same looking Mario and Zelda games - sure, they're great franchises and have produced great games, it's just getting old.

The competitors aren't much better though. It feels like we just had Forza 3, now we're getting Forza 4? Another Halo and Fable? They're just cashing in on Halo now, but after 5 titles, with Reach last year and Bungie not doing it anymore, can't they shelve the franchise for a little while? Fable started out well with the first game, but just keeps getting worse. I don't know why they bother - they keep promising things which never eventuate as the series further descends into mediocrity.

Sony are doing the same thing with Resistance and Uncharted (though, I think you can give them a break on this considering how good the games have been).

It would be nice to see one of the companies put some effort behind showing off something new. Seems like all the new IP's that get shown these days are soon forgotten about and disappear or don't turn out well.

I worry about it for MS, more so than Sony, as the PS3 has had some good recently established franchises, but what was Microsofts last good fresh IP? They seem to have been riding the Halo, GOW, Fable and Forza wagon since the beginning of this generation.

Would be interesting to hear if the BF3 announcement is made. This game was in development a while ago but they scrapped the game....

Halo has lost a lot of steam since the start of this Gen.
Cod has taken over it and its with a different studio.

Resistance 3 will be the last major Sony exclusive from IG and GeOW 3 will be the last as i think Epic have a 3 game contract with MS.

So will Halo 5 and 6 be on 360?
