Easy to say that when their software can only be played on their hardware, which is selling like bags of shit would if you priced them at $400.

The sales figures' of games like Mario Kart & Smash Bros are going to be restricted because they're exclusive to a failing console that's only sold 6 million units; whereas if they were available on Playstation, Xbox & PC, both those two games could sell up to 40 million units.

Wont happen long as their handheld division is so strong, release mario on the ps4 and it really makes the point of owning a 3ds moot, marginal gain form selling to the playstation/xbox crowd isn;t worth the influence they lose by having their games exclusive.

Why? They can just exit the Home Console Market but stay in the Handheld Market. I don't see how playing Mario on a PS4 is going to make me less likely to play a Handheld Mario on a Handheld System. Not to mention, their Handheld Market has been cut in half by Android Devices anyway; the 3DS is doing well, but not making anywhere near as much as the DS.

Also, in their current situation, marginal gain is an understatement. Their software would rake in significantly more on a consistent basis if released on other platforms compared to what they're getting now on the WiiU, which has only sold 6 million units in a year & a half.

Nintendo's not going to leave the console market anytime soon. The original Wii was a success numbers-wise, sure the Wii U has been selling horribly but they'll back themselves to bounce back with future consoles.

That has been their strategy for their entire history.

That is why they were able to make a profit every financial year for thirty years. They have cared more about being profitable than being big. The big problem with the Wii U hasn't been the sales, it's been that they're still making a loss on every console that has been sold.

They are not going to give up their primary source of income because they've had one poorly selling console, particularly after the previous console was one of the best selling consoles of all time.

Releasing their big games on other home consoles would further increase the pressure on their handhelds. They would have to significantly reduce their staff, placing more pressure on games that they release to be big selling money makers. If one of those fails...

They aren't Sega.

Whether they could pull off a decent Banjo Kazooie, Conker or Perfect Dark is another thing but we'll never know if they keep making Kinect rubbish.

So hopefully at E3 its announced RARE is working on something for X1 that isn't Kinect Sports.

During the week, Microsoft did their presentation for us and listed the games they have announced, and then they listed some generic "shooter" "Racing" titles in black for what will be announced at E3

Judging by what was up on screen, my guess is Halo 2A and a PGR. But its just a guess

Geez PGR coped a flogging on the original Xbox back in the day but I remember reading something at the end of last year saying that we shouldn't expect a PGR game anytime soon, pretty sure that came from Spencer himself. Still doesn't mean they aren't working on one but Forza has the racing scene covered at MS so Im more inclined to believe him than not.

Yeah, PGR is just a guess. Can't think of another racing game they could be making unless its a new IP?

You would think they would only go with a new up if it was more of an arcade racer, if it is more of a SIM racer then you would stick with Forza imo. Might be trying a new ip to counter Driveclub?


Did you see anything new about Quantum Break?
