Basically, for those who play 2k8 and don't know about this, Take Two is the most important company behind the nba 2k series.

Take-Two is what produced and created NBA 2k, making it the greatest basketball game on Earth.

As well all know, the 2k series rapes Live. Now that it seems like EA will buy over Take-Two, it would mean the end of the series for them as they'd be now all the focus would just be on NBA Live (which is a terrible terrible game).

I honestly honestly doubt that the Live producers and 2k producers would work together. And it is very probable that EA would cancel the 2k series, and just release Live to make those extra dollars.

Possible although they would probably defeat the purpose of buying out the company. They will either continue to make 2K or turn Live into 2K IMO.

well, let's hope EA just let them take over developing the game with EA's money. Mind you, the amount of money they seem to spend on live at the moment is about 50 bucks....some bogan to update the rosters and make more bugs just so it looks different.

I couldn't believe Live 08 was a 2007 release, the graphics and gameplay would have been considered poor a decade ago.

Hopefully EA don't take over creative control of the 2K series and let Take Two continue, just with more money to play with. The interesting thing will be the differentiation between the two games - I assume Live will be made even more of an arcade style game, with 2K marketed as the true bball simulation.

let's look at this in a positive way:

Live's Graphics + 2k's animations + Live's commentators/announcers + Live's presentation + 2k's strategy + 2k's gameplay + 2k's slam dunk contest/3pt shoot out + Live's franchise mode = Best basketball game ever.

But anyways, that's really doubtful as Live will probaby be like "we do it better than 2k, and always have done it better, so why should they help us??"

I'll be really pissed if they cancel the 2k series.

I read about this to my horror on another forum but was re-assured by somebody "in the know" that the 2k series will still be released.

You'd certainly hope EA aren't buying them out with the intention to just wipe off their main competitor and have a monopoly on the sport game industry.

Live 08 would be a good game if it wasn't so friggin' easy and actually played out like a real game of bball.

EA killed Origin
EA killed Westwood
EA killed Bullfrog

They will kill Bioware
They will kill 2k Sports
They will kill GTA by overflooding the market with it.

They don't support thier games appropriately... they take the money and run every time and yet people keep buying thier shit. I really wish American's would stop buying Madden (it's UNJUST that a company can monopolize such a huge property as the NFL, **** the legalities) EA is the only company in the world in which people should pirate out of principle.., they are scum and they are taking a big fat shit on the industry that made them as much money as they have.

I will never purchase anything with the EA logo on it again. I would feel dirty for contributing to the machine, and if people knew all the facts, so would they.

EA Lacks serious proper gaming when it's come to NBA and pretty much in every sport arena 2K have kicked ass but for fans of NHL, NHL 2008 Is a much more satisfying game than it's 2K counterpart. that's my two cents anyways.

In terms of gameplay nhl is much more realistic than 2k8, the dynasty mode is much bigger and better, if you want a better analysis than check out the games at IGN. That'l tell you
