Happy with this, I was worried about the lack of experience so this is a good appointment. Strange though as we always played Dogs and Eade never gave credit to us...

Probably moved onto another alias I'd guess.
Interesting that the role has been termed football and coaching strategist and not simply director of coaching/ football. That leads me to believe Eade's job will to be to oversee the development of game structure and strategy as well as providing a watchful eye over other areas to do with coaching, similar to Thompson at Essendon this year.
He might be charged with going overseas and looking at styles of play from other sports and trying to adapt them to Aussie Rules. For example elements of Barcelona where they use precision skills in delicate set play situations, the All blacks who hit you like a sledgehammer the way they move up and choke the ball carrier or even the coaching and player integration of the Packers who are all systems go atm working like a well oiled machine.
Match day has always been Eade's strength and without the pressure of being a head coach I'm sure he'll mellow out next year so it seems on the surface to be an OK move considering the other options available.

Resigned with Wet Toast I think, he has a young family so think he'll be there for a while yet. Besides, he probably has senior coach ambitions and wouldn't want to be under Buck's wing I'd imagine.

I don't mind Rocket. He certainly has a few tricks up his sleeve as a strategist and he can coach. I like the way he speaks and handles himself too.
It's a wise appointment because we needed some experience.

I agree with you that it isnt a great get for us but at the end of the day Buckley is the coach and he will do what he wants, not what Eade wants. Eade is there if Buckley needs help and he is unsure of something he can go to him. We will play under Buckleys gameplan so it doesnt really matter much who is the director of coaching.

I wasn't keen either but it'll be good for Bucks to have an experienced head around him. I mean the best way it would've turned out was if Malthouse actually accepted the role he signed on for in 2009, but he never had any intention of sticking around once his tenure as head coach ended. Eade has a good tactical brain and has experience outside Collingwood as a head coach, he'll definitely be able to fast track whatever gameplan changes Buckley wants to make and have the side up to speed by the start of the 2012 season, could've done worse.

Opti, we're going from a 3 times premiership coach to a 2 year assistant champion of our club.. In terms of coaching prowess, short of Leigh Matthews we can't be improving on what we had
But we've got Rodney and he's always been part of successful programs, I think he'll be a good fit. Also the afl website says we've signed Ben hart from Adelaide as well

If thats the case your idol's Mick's ego will be to blame.
No. He is no chance of being senior coach of Collingwood, very much like Craig is no chance at Melbourne, Bomber at Essendon etc.
Even if Richmond filled this role with someone, it wouldn't be on the proviso that if the current senior coach fails, they are there step straight in. If you guys had landed Craig and Dimma had a stinker in 2012, you wouldn't instill Craig as senior coach now would you?

Will he still do some Media Work?
The club knows what it's doing. How many times have people questioned what's happening only for it to work out?
During the player review (where the players do dance routines) the St Kilda dance was with Sam Fisher flirting with a girl on a couch, then they went to a club where the Saints players were dancing with girls, then Fisher took the girl home and she started pole dancing and Fisher was all over her! It was pretty poor taste given what's been going on but overall nothing too bad.
