Can't stop old Rocket. Just put out the "several other cheapshots" line on One Week at a Time.

Name them, or shut the **** up.

Oh, and he won't make any further comments about the incidents, didn't agree with Scotts press release today.

Apparently we can't defend ourselves against bullshit now.

Of course he won't make any further comment. He got what he wanted, a nice diversion from the fact that Barry Hall is nothing but a thug and did in fact loose his shit and have a brain fart.

The sad thing is that there are better ways to do it, rather than take pot shots and make false accusations. But we all know the karma bus will roll around and the Bulldogs and their sooky coach will be blaming something else when they crash out of the finals again.

I wasn't a big fan of the Reiwoldt dive last year, but putting it into perspective now, I think Rodney Eade deserves every bit of shit that gets flung his way. Couldn't have happened to a better prick!

Who will he blame when Barry goes ape next time? Because we all know it will happen again, it's just a matter of when?

cant wait to see barry go off the next time bcause the afl has protected the species here overuling the umps. and who will eade blame then?

eade had lost the plot after claiming our players had let the 2 doggies players headbutt each other causing cuts on there heads, :)

How grand of him to lean his knee into their heads while they were on the ground.

How many weeks would have been appropriate?

McMahon's knee into Cooney's head and into Picken's head were cheap shots.
Can't say I saw the alleged McMahon/Cooney contact. The one with Picken just looked like he was trying to shake Picken off holding his leg. Hence no MRP penalty, hence no actual injury to Picken.

Can I assume we've at least given up on the claim that Thompson kneed Hall?

I also didn't see the alleged Eagleton snipe on Ziebell ; but I wonder if Dogs fans would be ok with our coach whining in the media about how Ziebell was targetted with a cheap shot off the ball and needs some protection from the umpires.

It occured in the Hall/ Thompson scuffle.

The MRP didn't see it as forceful contact so I guess we can.

Silly act though.

If the said incident occured I have no problem with your coach sticking up for his players.

Eagleton was probably the only one who needs protection. Can probably count himself lucky that he'll be retired by the time Ziebell comes into his own.

I have no doubt whatsoever that he won't be doing it again.

You miss my point. Thompson crouched down to push Hall on the shoulder with his thigh/hip. Silly yes, but not a kneeing action.

Eade repeatedly said that he kneed Hall, which is a much more emotive way of describing it. Like his line about Gia & Addison & their head cuts, he's had a verbal snipe at North players, failed to back it up, then rather than admit he got it wrong, pretends he's a big man by saying 'let's not go on about it'.

I didn't hear him say it repeatedly... You must have better hearing than me.

I am not sure what else you expected from Eade. I am sure that if your players had come under the same sort of scrutiny and were the subject of what we view as unfair tactics you would be pissed off too.

With regard to the blood rule incidents I have heard that your players were trying to re-open the wounds on numerous occassions (which is why Eade was upset) such that they would need to be removed from the ground. If they are tactics that you see will make you a better team into the future, then so be it.

Arguing over semantics adds nothing to the discussion. There were a number of instances of late contact to Dogs players on the day - nothing overly malicious but they were relatively 'cheap' in nature and the ball was not the primary objective (they were certainly proof that North were 2nd to the contest all day, if 120-odd less disposals was not proof enough). Thompson didn't literally 'knee' Hall but it doesn't take away from the cheap nature of his action. Likewise Scott McMahon didn't apply enormous force with his knees to the heads of Picken and Cooney but they were still unnecessary and cheap actions that added nothing to North's performance on the day - they actually prefectly encapsulated where North's focus was on the day.

If Rocket did place an over-emphasis on these 'cheap' shots in the press conference (which in all likelihood he did, but for a strategic purpose to let the football public know that the Dogs were first to the ball all day), Scott Thompson certainly over-embellished the force of Hall's headlock by stating he was seconds away from passing out - and to be honest that was the most embarrassing and damaging thing to Thompson reputation, and paints him out to the football public as someone who dishes it out but cannot take it. The irony of North supporters starting an "Eade's Whinging" thread as opposed to a "Thompson's Whinging" one has not been lost on anyone

There's no need to start a thread called "Thompson's Whinging" but we all know that is what he did. And he now has to deal with having a big target on his back with the rule makers and adjudicators for the rest of his playing career.

Could you dig up this quote from Thompson?

North's official report to the tribunal informed of him having a sore neck. No mention of anything else.

The Hun reported it as "North's medical report gets Hall off".
