Australian geoscience has discovered a brand new Island off the coast of WA! The new Island (as yet unnamed) measures 3m x 1m stands 1m high and is positioned approximately 300km off the Coast of Broome.... smack bang in the middle of Browse Basin. The discovery means Australia's martime boundaries need to be durastically altered, and in a joyous twist of fate that means WA will now have a significantly greater say in how the Browse basin can be developed. After being shafted by the federal government over royalties and James Price Point, the shift in the boundary will now see WA's "ownership" (of our own gas mind you) rise from 5% to as high as 70% bringing billions to the state economy and reviving the onshore development option that is so heavily in WA's interests.

Australians can all rejoice at this wonderous news!! WA has a long history of propping up Australias economy and have been rewarded by the federation by having our taxes siphoned off to basket case economies in the east (including having just 30c in the dollar of our GST raised returned to us). The extra dollars means WA can continue to upgrade the infrastructure that underpins the economic success of our state. Means we can prop us Australia for years to come. The champion bit or real estate needs a name befitting the power and success that it represents -so I reckon "Eagle Rock Isl" is the go. Let the nation celebrate!!

This morning on ABC720 Geoff named it Poo Island.

Just enough space for a seagull to land on, do a poo, contemplate life for a few moments and then fly off.

Pretty sure that any new outcrops of land outside state coastal waters is the property of the Commonwealth anyway.
