When Shuey took the mark from the kick in very late in the last quarter...what is the actual rule? He marched back, and then was like 70 metres out...there was no way it was realistic unless he was going to torpedo. Then the umpire sorta gives him 15 seconds...and then he does a half-fake set shot but actually to JK or whoever in the pocket.
It seems subjective and confusing

Would have been frustrating as hell for pie fans

Imagine if it was off a free kick for too high. Peak Shuey troll

Darling had the potential to go down an absolute HERO if he swallowed up that juicy kick from Shuey and sunk the goal :(

Seriously to kick the winning/sealer goal in a GF after the first half he had and all the crititicism he's suffered in his AFL journey would have been glorious.

Would have shut everybody up for years and gone down in history as one of the best grand final halves from any player, lifting his team for the win.

Alas, unfortunately i think his 2nd half performance was diminished significantly, due to him adding yet another chapter to his growing Benny Hill clip.

Thank god we won.
Sliding doors.

He wasnt in the goal square and if he doesnt play on hes on a very acute angle. Theres ever chance he fluffs it like he kicked the wrong side of the ball in the prelim.

We score a point there and theres more time on the clock for pies to go end to end. Great play from Jack to take some time off the clock

Yeah but if he's smart he takes 30 off the clock, maybe even chip it inboard for another 30 seconds and easier angle. the big * up is Cripps not handballing to Rioli.

From the time he marked it to the umpire moving him on was 25 seconds.

...
So in essence, we should all be happy Jack dropped the mark, Liam sqibbed a contest and Chris missed a set shot right in front of goal because we ended up as premiers.

It's the old butterfly flapping it's wings and causing a hurricane in China metaphor.

Jack is our beautiful butterfly.

maybe...just maybe... they realized that and deliberately missed the set shots on goal?
doing it for the team!? That would explain why we had a points bonanza in the last Qtr.?
Coach = "Just lock it into the 50 and keep kicking points boys!"

Flying high Jack, like a meat pie in the sky,
Darling Jack the ninja flipping butterfly!

2018 - L.Shuey = Arrogant.

Your a glass half full type of guy. Gotta like that;)

Is it strange that I can't picture Shuey as Victorian?

Just feels like he's a Sandgroper lifer.

Its weird, i actually now picture Adam Simpson in the same way. I feel like he managed to harness into the WA/Sandgroper us vs Victoria and the world mentality, especially given the loss if Gaff/Nic Nat and Sheppard, this Eaglea flag was the most courageous/against all odds premiership in a long, long time.

Simpson's coaching effort was nothing short of remarkable in 2018, especially as he had to cope with a sick child in hospital earlier in the year.

I've had "And we're here, to show you why" rolling around in my mind for months since the Granny :D

We do have a good record of retaining the interstate players. Sure, we lost Brad Ebert and Chris Judd, but some others like Beau Waters, Shannon Hurn, Luke Shuey, and now Andrew Gaff (arguably)...they bleed blue and gold.

Simmo is the same, too. He has the job for however long he wants it imo.
