PICK 1 - GREATER WESTERN SYDNEY - THOMAS BOYD (KPF)

Height: 199cm
Weight: 102kg
Club: Eastern Ranges/Norwood

Yes, I am aware that GWS are pretty well stocked for KPFs with Cameron, Patton, and probably Franklin. However, you just can't overlook Boyd with the number 1 pick this year. He's just a monster, with a very strong contested mark and a real ability to crash the packs. Also an excellent set shot; just a pure footballer with a massive future ahead of him.

Good pick up there. Was always going to be interesting to see who went pick 1. My choice was Matt Scharenberg

GWS is going to have a better forward line then us :(

If they happen to get both Franklin and Boyd alongside Patton and Cameron one would get squeezed out probably Boyd or move Cameron to CHB

I'd say that Franklin would play further up the ground. No reason why they couldn't rotate Cameron/Franklin off a wing, and Patton will take a while to get back from injury.

PICK 2 - MELBOURNE DEMONS - NATHAN FREEMAN

Height: 181cm
Weight: 85kg
Club: Sandringham Dragons

At this stage I'm a mock draft veteran and I always try and pick the players who I think make sense, rather than just picking off the next guy on the list of whichever phantom drafts I'm following.

Freeman seems to go in the late teens in most mocks but I'm a big fan, based on what I've read. He's fast, agile and likes to mix it up inside. There's nothing more uplifting seeing a mid break away from a pack ala Judd in his prime and Melbourne could certainly use a lift like that during games.

I think he'd also fit in well with Grimes and Trengove.

Gutsy Jimmy. I like it. His going to be a super inside mid player but. Don't want to say star incase I'm made to eat my words but has all the attributes. Agree totally with your description. A pack breaking mid like Freeman would suit the Demons to a tee. Good assistance for N. Jones and Viney in the middle
