Watched the EP game and Meh!! Seriously the coaching staff need a kick in the arse.Started off with everybody in defence.How the hell do you win a game of footy by going defensive immediately? Claremont would grab a wild kick out of EPs backline and stream forward in a wave.It doesnt matter if you have 40 blokes in the backline;given all the time in the world with no pressure my grandma could spot up somebody 20-40 mtrs away.With a very young side surely you must turn to their attacking instincts to a fair degree.Watching a big hack out of defence to 3 or 4 unattended Claremont players had me tearing my hair our in frustration.For goodness sake Webster;the object surely is "TO WIN" not "NOT LOSE"! Is that crap what WCE call toughening up? or developing a defensive mindset?. I call it stifiling development and i think its detrimental to young talent let alone people forced to watch that muck.

How did Dobson go Chaddy? Surprised he wasn't in the league side after his 54 possession game last week against Peel. Every time I have seen him play he gives 100%.

I've been away for a few weeks and he seems to have lost favour with the coaching staff.only saw the last quarter of the ressies and showed a little physichality that was missing from the league side.I would have had him in the side in front of several eagles and royals players.To be honest yesterday's team imo wasn't the best we could have put on the park.As usual Jye Bolton and partners owned the midfield.I would consider him as a rookie if west coast can't get anybody decent thru draft/trade period.

• Ah Chee played well yesterday. Took some cracking marks and towered his players. Bombed a good goal from outside 50.
• Oscar Allen is crazy good. Has awesome footy smarts and makes great decisions.
• Ainsworth is good but turned the ball over badly and can't hit targets.
• Petrol has good speed and tackles but hardly gets the ball and looks underdone.
• Brander looks super silky and a class way above the rest.
• Quokka Watson was best on ground. Period.

Worth noting that Ah Chee, Nelson and Oscar were on limited time so don't read into their stats if you weren't at the game.

Not confident on Rotham making it as a tall defender. He physically matched Lee but it was on the lead where he struggled.

Watching our kids next to some of the tigers boys, it was evident that most need time in the gym. Only Waterman has an AFL standard body for a kid.

Rotham isn't slow. A lot of that ball coming in was quick and he was probably beaten by Lee early.

Secondly. He isn't a KPD he's the third tall running defender.

I don't see if from a movement perspective. That's what id be looking for if his game is to translate into AFL.

If West Coast has to take 1 Claremont player a year England was the best option. Just one and done get him out. Don't have to carry him for years like Patmore, Banfield, Weedon, Broome, Bedford, Crabb

He impressed me yesterday as a small defender but can he turn into a mid at the next level?

Mick Grasso was there and his sole target was Clark. He was impressed so ticks the lust for Doggies - I expect them to be getting some compo picks so likely to go at 20 to 30 range.

Player comparison - probably a mix of Cole and Gaff. He is not really the build of Yeo - only 182 cm and 78 kg. He has good pace and is ok overhead but not as dominant as Elliott. He reads the play well, makes good decisions and his best attribute is his kicking. Hits targets and passes to where the player should be leading. He held his own against Petrucelle on Sunday so not slow.

He has been playing a mix of hbf (probably due to being so good with ball in hand) and wing. Will likely be more an outside midfielder but he is not soft.

Drafting Clarke as a defender/ wing option would be fine imo. We’ll need to start looking for replacements for Jetta and Hurn at some stage, and potentially Gaff if he leaves too.

Time for the Eagles to get their own team and stop using a traditional club like EP as a guttered out host. Only problem for EP is rebuilding the team. Going to be especially hard given the shit recruiting regions they have assigned to them.

Please. They have the best country zone in the WAFL. If their Football Manager left the metro area he would know.

I m not sure with the standalone team as I still see a lot of merit under the older system where the WAFL teams shared the Wce players ..Probably a outdated view though..
