Would be nice to get this one given the Blues injuries and to get a fifth win at home (in Gaff farewell game too). Depending on Blues injuries, can definitely see a chance for a win. Was hoping for 6 wins at the start of the year so will be thrilled with a result this week.

Feel like they’ll keep up the momentum for one more week to give Schofield a chance at the job

Eagles 32 pts (which I would have laughed at saying even 2 weeks ago)

If we play half decently we should win given everything thats happened to them. Their injured outs are huge, and we're at full strength at home, so no excuses to be thrashed. Curnow probably not playing, and even if he dos he wont be 100%. The one thing I worry about is they'll be desperate... don't know if I can trust us just yet, hope it's at least competitive unless they're the ones not competing. Tipping them tentatively, but would love a win, be just gravy on a good 3 weeks.

After succumbing in a fiery QF derby, we’ve had some exciting knockout final escapes the past two weeks, now for our granny against a superior specimen reduced to carrion, and then our halfhearted Mad Monday at the Cattery (sorry in advance about the percentage boost Giants/Port)

Send 12 players off for surgery or early holidays after this week, please.

McKay and Curnow out. Owies at full forward, Motlop CHF. No worries.
Who are your back up tall forwards?

TDK I guess - and he's injured - but he's still more of a ruck.

If Geelong miss Cameron and Hawkins we can go Neale, Rohan and O.Henry.

Young and Kemp up forward maybe? Is there a chance for a debutant?

I'd throw McGov and Kemp up forward. Kennedy probably pinch hitting. Better to throw Young in defence.

40% of the list is injured. Now actually forced to officially debut a player or two as we need to replace 6 minimum from the last game and have 5 only available who have played an AFL game (and one was sub in their only game and played half a quarter).

Nothing more certain then a blues win now.

Lord, Moir, Lemmey all to play their first game, no point in West Coast to watch vision this week, even we have no idea how this plays out.

Now Carlton knows what it's like to have half of your list unavailable, except we had to deal with that for half a season.

Its not how many you have missing but who.
Yeah what would WC supporters know about that....
Here's a quick view of a period in 2021 minus some lesser fringe players...Tom Barrass, Shannon Hurn, Jeremy McGovern, Luke Shuey, Elliot Yeo, Liam Ryan, Liam Duggan, Brad Sheppard

Ever looked at who was missing in the Tas game last year when Hawks rolled us by 100+?

Don't recall all the pre-emptive excuses the Blues are already getting.

They were rolling out excuses when their absentee list was a much lesser deal than it is this week, so of course they were going to lean into it heavily now that it actually is a thing of note.

Come off it.

Talking about the effect of injuries on a team is "excuses" apparently.

It's not a banter thread. Take part with some sincerity at least.

I'm sorry but if you didn't see significant talk about West Coast's injuries then idk what you were watching/reading - and where are these pre-emptive excuses from? Media is too busy criticising our bench etiquette to be worried about that

Perhaps try being less sensitive.

If you disagree that the effect of Carlton's injury list through the year has been overstated, you are free to post that opinion.

Congratulations - this is one of the few weeks this season where Carlton's injury list is one that presents actual jeopardy. However that drum has been banged all year and it's been tiresome. A quick scan of the Carlton board reveals that there is a much healthier dose of reality there, while the delusional perspectives make it to the main board.

Carlton have underperformed, they haven't been unlucky. They should have top 2 just about sealed up by now from the position they were in.
