When Ken Judge was coach of the Eagles in 2001, he received a tip-off from a Perth detective that Cousins and three of his teammates were using drugs.

Judge raised the alarm with the club, which conducted an internal investigation. But to his shock, the investigation found no evidence of drug use by its players.
Judge was then relieved of his coaching duties that same year.

West Coast failed in its duty of care to Cousins and his teammates by turning a blind eye to their growing drug use in the early to mid-2000s. And it widely recognised that the death of East Fremantle star Chris Mainwaring lies firmly at the feet of a club whose mantra was success at any cost. This extends to not only overlooking illegal drug use within the walls of of the corporate WCE machine but then denying any knowledge of the problem and leaving a trail of tragedy and death fore ever.

Give it a rest mate, we've heard it all before. You freo fans don't want us bringing up the past when we tell you about our premiership cups, yet you're happy to bring it up to try and hang shit on the current team, for stuff that happened a decade ago. We've got plenty of current, relevant failings to talk about, leave the past where it is.

Dont get all self righteous on it,
History is really made from honesty, not winners. In the pursuit of glory history is often distorted to suit the outcome. I know we at Freo have made numerous blunders and mistakes over our twenty years, but the ups and downs, bad trades, being run down by our own state, being the no hopers down the road from the mighty eagles i would never change mate. It has created a club that no matter what success has eluded us has bonded supporters alike and still through all the bad our membership stays strong as well our financial situation.
I dont know when we will get a flag but when we do it will come from blood sweat and tears.

How long did it take Hawthorn to win a flag??? joined the vfl in 1925 and first flag 1961 and they didnt compete in a 18 team league.

So, lets all move on, sometime you guys down the road need to reflect a little yourself be happy:):):):).......ooops cant both be down the road, your up the road;);););)

This is the banter thread, not the ****ing write an essay on ancient history thread.

If you got an issue with illicit drugs take it up with society & boycott every band you've ever loved

Imagine how good they would of been if they weren't on drugs tho You can't say it made them better player's and was an advantage !!

How long did it take the Eagle's again ?

Of course they do, they keep saying it. Anyone who has ever even dabbled in any of the stuff our players were "on" in those times, knows full well, that after about 10 minutes, your heart would either explode, or you'd just flat out fall in a heap. That's if anything was ever used on game day (no positive game day tests) and if training when coming down is an advantage then no wonder Johnson trains the house down.

Hang on, remember Johnson only ever did coke that one time he was caught, he's was a "clean skin" (courtesy of Nathan Buckley) like Josh Thomas & Lachie Keefe both before and after the incident :drunk:

Silly me, I should have realised the only players to ever use illicit drugs are West Coast players, and that 1 and only time Johnson was holding that coke.........no doubt for an eagles player.

It's all a conspiracy run by the AFL, the West Australian, and the country as a whole, to stop Freo ever winning anything. So far, so good.

Guess you'll be boycotting anything to do with your club considering it's the only one with two proven drug users still on its list.
