Does anyone give collingwood a chance against the mighty eagles this weekend?
I can not seriously see how collingwood can get within 5 goals to us.
Collingwood have one of the slowest midfields - we have one of the fastest
We have the best backline and they have a weak forward line.

This may turn into a masacure. :thumbsu:

Any collingwood people silly enough to waste their money on a bet?

How did we go last year against your mob?

Our slow midfield beat you in melbourne very easily and our slow midfield got within 2 kicks at Subi.

Earleir in the week, i gave us not much chance, the closer we get to the game, & the doubts i read & hear on whether Cox, Judd, Embley won't play, i give us a sneaky chance. You never say never, remember Andrew Tranquilli's 6 goals in the mid 90's against them when we were despised outsiders!!!

It won't be a "massacure" or a "flogging" I shouldn't think and with Judd missing the Eagles will have to dig a little deeper. Doesn't mean that they can't win, just that it will be a bit harder (and more meritorious if they do !)

Will be a hard fought match either way.

Judd out will hurt esp if Cox doesnt come up.

Wont be a massacre but another tight match just falling WC's way. :thumbsu:

if the pies take their last quarter form from the kangas game they are a big show.......if the produce the crap they played in the first three quarters they will lose easily tho

doubts over cox, judd, embley.....already without cuz and fletcher, all of a sudden the midfield isn't so daunting!

Collingwood always worry me for some reason.

They do have a history of knocking us over when we are expected to win, more so in Melbourne than Subi perhaps.

But they are still a dangerous opponent particularly if we lose Judd and Cox and Embley don't come up.

At home we should win but I think it will be a lot closer than 5 goals.

Collingwood haven't beaten us in Perth since 1992.

I'm not saying that guarantees us a win, but you could hardly argue they have history of knocking us over when they travel west.

You mean when Seaby kicked 3 goals, had aabout 20 ruck taps and had 10+ possesions

Oh yeah he really flogged him that day
Stats for the day

Seaby 15 possesions, 3 goals, 24 hit outs

Fraser 18 possesions, 2 goals, 26 hit outs

Remind me how one perfromance was that much better then the other? ;)

Anytime Fraser beats his opponent in the hit outs is a good day out. Hes more a follower/ ruckrover and rarely wins out in the hitouts.

Oops. Didn't realise it was that long ago.

Still I don't think we are a walk up win.
Yep, I remember it well. Collingwood were 4th and WC were 6th before that game but it was still considered an upset, the Pies won by a point (63 to 62) and Damien Monkhorst was clearly BOG (from memory Micky McGuane starred that day also).

Since then the Pies have played 20 games v West Coast of which ONLY 7 have been in Perth. Collingwood have lost these 7 games by an average margin of 39 points.

*Collingwood of course rarely play here in order to ensure that most of their away games are against struggling Melbourne sides - a further West Coast contribution to the rabble clubs.

The Collingwood list that day was as follows:

1 Damian Monkhorst
2 Tony Francis
3 Michael Gayfer
4 Gary Pert
10 Paul Williams
13 Allan Richardson
15 Troy Lehmann
31 Darren Saunders
19 Graham Wright
22 Tony Shaw
23 Craig Kelly
26 Gavin Brown
27 Craig Starcevich
28 Gavin Crosisca
29 Scott Russell
30 James Manson
32 Brad Rowe
34 Mick McGuane
44 Shane Kerrison
47 Mark Fraser

Makes quite funny reading!

:D

To all those people who say Cox and Embley are 'a good chance to be out', where do you get your info? They pulled out at the last minute last week and haven't missed any training this week, so they'll both play.

As for Judd, I think he's a very good chance, he always pulls up well from injuries, and all he had last week was a corked thigh, so don't get your hopes up.

IN: Cox, Embley
OUT: Graham, LeCras

Good luck on the weekend.:thumbsu:
