Like they did in the wet in 1992 against the Hawks. West Coast came from behind at 3 quarter time and finished with 11 goals for the game.

Sumich kicked 5. Went on to win the flag against Geelong:'( ( Darling kicked 5 today )

edited - 2006 at the MCG, the last time the eagles beat Hawks there until today, they trailed Hawthorn by 5 points at 3 qtr time and won the game ( like today ) Lynch kicked 5 for the Eagles. ( the game was also played on a Saturday lunch time time slot for WA Viewers )

Also - Lost to Sydney at the SCG that year and failed to beat Brisbane in Brisbane. Lost to the Cats early on.

Beat the hawks in Melb 2006 and 2018 and won the flag. You never know. Could be good omens again.

demondavey??????? thoughts mate

Ok so 1992 Saturday arvo lunch time slot out at Waverley in Wet, miserable conditions Hawthorn lead West Coast at Qtr time. Eagles fight back and kick 11 goals for the game with Sumich kicking 5. Eagles win the flag.

In 2006 at the MCG Eagles trail at quarter time and at 3 quarter time by 5 points. They fight back and win a close game by 10 points with Lynch kicking 5 goals. They went onto win the flag ( would have also been in wet conditions )

Today the Eagles trail Hawthorn at the MCG During the Saturday arvo lunch time slot like the above games. They trail at 3qtr time by 5 points like in 2006, and end up beating the Hawks for the first time there since the above game. They finished with 11 goals ( like in 1992 ) and once again their KPP Player in Darling kicks 5 goals.

Beat Hawthorn in Melbourne for the first time last year although it was at Marvel. Went on to win the flag ( half time goal tally of 6 like today )

Also in 1992, 2006 and 2019 the games they played against the Hawks they played in a grand final the year before! 2018 they won it

Premiers this year?

2019 win the granny against Geelong? or lose it?

edited - both times the pies went into the clash with the eagles coming off a loss by under a goal at the MCG.

*en hell.

edited again - both games eagles kicked just two goals for the second half ( the 3 rd quarter obviously as they were held goalless in the last )

fu**en hell.

So.. we’re going back to back. Thanks 😜

* 1992 Hawks and Pies parallels so similar wtf. Take a look at those.

Also like losing up in Sydney, not winning up in Brizzy. Getting rolled to Geelong early on.

This is not on par with the Hawks and Pies game but even the Doggies bares some resemblance.

1992 game

13 goals in the first half, blitzed them with 8 in the first. Won by 59 points.

2019 game

14 goals in the 2nd half, 9 goal blitz in the 3rd, won by 61 points.

If there was a Guinness book record for knowing afl stats you'd be in there

Ok guys this one works against you this time

I knew there was something eery similar with the Eagles game against North yesterday.

2007 as reigning Premiers The Eagles played the Roos at home and kicked............

18.13 = 121 points

First quarter score was WCE 5.4 to 3.1 ( North kicked 3.1 in the opening term yesterday )

Half time Eagles had 8 goals kicked, as they did yesterday

And at 3 quarter time North had 7 goals kicked for the game, as they did yesterday.

Their spearhead in 2007 Q. Lynch had 7 scoring shots for 3.4

JK Had 7 scoring shots for 7 goals

Could be like 2007 where an interstate side unexpectedly made the GF ( Port ) and lost to Geelong. Maybe the Lions make it and lose to us this year.

Highly unlikely.

WTF!!!!!!!

1992 Premiership year for the Eagles.......

Beat the Blues by 24 points, exactly 4 goals in Melbourne

And even crazier I just remembered, they kicked 15 goals and 11 goals each, like today!

WTF!

In the 90's you did the double over Geelong.

Maybe you do it over the Pies this year.

In all 4 of West Coast's premiership triumphing seasons, they have lost their second last game of the year.

1992 - Footscray
1994 - Carlton
2006 - Fremantle
2018 - Melbourne

hmmmmmmm. Lose to Richmond, and the flag is yours.

1994 game against Carlton they had a bye then smashed the doggies in the famous Southern-Sumich choke hold game.
