I think each school nominates three players to go to training and the team is picked from there, i could well be wrong but i think thats how they did it last year.just a quick question...is there a limit of players from one school. because the likes of MGS, hailebury and to a lesser extent xavs and skevs, would surely have a few guys who would be in contention.
also, who are the selectors this year for the team?
you gotta be kidding keath and may r so good its ridiculous
MAy is massive for a year ten and will definately play AFL kicked a goal from 50m on the weekend and it went about 15m past the line (dunnno if it was 50 but it said it was).
It definitely helps, and considering he is the tallest player in the team and can run down Adam Marangon (one of the best sprinters in the APS) AND he was runner up in the u15 player of the carnival award, i would have thought AFL was a pretty realistic line of thought.so if ur massive you will be drafted..sam crocker kicked a goal from the centerline at caulfield and hes a year 10, not even big
may played for NT in both U/18 and U/16so if ur massive you will be drafted..sam crocker kicked a goal from the centerline at caulfield and hes a year 10, not even big
yeah good point. even though tom hawkins was drafted to geelong. although hes a great mark. his size makes him quite slow. may however is very fast for his size and has a career in aflso if ur massive you will be drafted..sam crocker kicked a goal from the centerline at caulfield and hes a year 10, not even big
Just quietly, how are there 6 Grammar kids in the squad but no Ash Smith? Seriously, what a joke. Not one of those Grammars are as good as Smith, and it's not just these guys who have nothing on him but are still included in the squad over him. Is he injured or anything? Personally I can't see any reason why Smith hasn't been one of the first included, although I admit that my knowledge is definately restricted on injuries etc.

why would oakleigh do that, unfair on the players. Also interesting to see dylan conway a yr 10 named for skevs. Although is not a bad player, has no chance.
Which is the opinion of the club officials.
Would it also be fair for the players to miss such a high profile game?
There are recruiters from every club there wanting to see the crop of the APS and AGS.
The AFL were loud in their support of this game. They have also been very loud in their instruction to clubs to support the players who opt to play for the APS.
Essentially it has been left in the players hands. If they feel their bodies are right to play on Wednesday, they will. Same deal for the following weekend.
For those who are on the fringe of being drafted, the APS v AGS game is a huge opportunity for them.
If you're good enough to be drafted, the recruiters would have seen you by now, or they can watch you play TAC in the next few weeks.
this is nothing more than a scrimage
