Like I'd contemplate going to QLD via NT if I could use my membership to buy tickets, but if the membership has to be QLD based then obviously not.

Not sure how they'll view that circumstance. Maybe if you can show them the flight bookings, they might be all good with that.

Here's hoping the boys make this a live question for you over the next few weeks.

Can any membership be used to buy tickets? VIC based but could fly to QLD via NT......

Two weeks quarantine in NT @ $2,500 before being allowed into QLD.

For the purposes of the NT all of Victoria and the Sydney metropolitan areas are declared hotspots so 14 days is mandatory.

If you left before tmw you could guarantee you'd be in QLD for the Prelim and GF

We might not make either. Would that be worth 2 weeks of prison in the northern territory that you pay for plus 10 hours of flights.

And even if we do make it to the prelims or later, is there actually a guarantee of Vic members being able to get tickets?

Reading a bit from those trying to get tickets for Thursday night, it seems the ticketing system wouldn't accept membership barcodes for those who lived outside of SA - so Vic members trying to share their membership barcode weren't able to do so.

Wonder if it'll be something similar for finals in Qld - theoretically members can get to Qld, but will they be able to buy tickets

That's why I didn't, no guarantee they'd let Vic members living in QLD buy tickets.

anyone know when the ballot is?

$1900 for a guaranteed ticket doesn't seem so bad when you've been starved of footy all year.

Now to get into Qld 🤠
Isn't your only option to go via NT for 2 weeks quarantine first?

Yes but will QLD? Just because you can cross the border doesn't make it legal
There is almost zero chance that QLD will do so because there is a state election on the 31st of October.

If Palaszczuk opens the border to Vic/Melbourne prior to the 31st, she'll be immediately labelled as Plague Anna with a week to go before the election. No way any Premier in the country would take that risk.

I'm quietly confident NSW and SA will open to regional Vic soon, hopefully it's in the next week we see some traction.
SA extended their Vic border buffer zone to 70km last Wednesday - not sure they'll open much more than that in the near future. Wouldn't be surprised to see then wait for announcements from Vic this coming Sunday before making further considerations

Other key point to note, for all finals to date, members barcodes associated with Vic addresses haven't been able to purchase tickets - they've been blocked

Ticket sales have been limited to those within the host state or who have direct travel access to the host state - not sure if that's going to change come through GF. Might be able to get to Qld, but might be looking for a pub to watch the match from

It's a small hope and our borders are unlawfully shut anyway. It's a complete joke.

Hopefully with Andrews going today (the word) something will happen and we will be released from our prison.

Not relying on membership, would just buy a ticket.

your "prison" has less than 20 new cases a day.

we have 40k here - a day lol

Be thankful you have people that place care above everything else.

but this is not the thread for that so ill stop.

And I wish I could fly to the PF or GF too.

Go Catters

It's not 'almost zero'. It is actually zero. The proximity of the election means absolutely nothing can or will change here regarding border restrictions with Victoria until after that event.

You simply have to remember that politicians the world over operate from the same wellspring of bravery, integrity and fearlessness that has characterised so much of Tom Lynch's season.
