Anyone of about 5. Too Early, Too Ignorant, Too Much can happen in the meantime.

(to be honest)

FAR too early to make an accurate prediction.

Look at 2002, no one would have expected Richmond and Hawthorn to fold like a pack of cards, and no-one, even myself, would have predicted Collingwood to make the GF, let alone get so close to Brisbane, although I am happy we did so a year or two ahead of schedule.

Many years ago, possibly 1994(?), the Herald Sun in Melbourne offered a $1,000,000 prize to anyone who could predict the final ladder (15 at the time I think ). The MMM breakfast show employed a mathemetician to work out the odds on being able to predict the full ladder. From my memory, he said that there is over 80,000,000 combinations that could be worked out and thats without taking into account intangibles such as injuries, irregular draw, weather etc etc.

Of course no-one even got close and they didnt win the Million.

In saying that though, and being a punter, I will have a crack at it, sort of.......

Premier will be one of the top 4 teams, which will be the same as last year.
Brisbane
Collingwood ( I Hope! )
Crows
Power.

Smokies -
West Coast
Geelong
Melbourne
Essendon

All these above should make the final 8.

Will go close to finals and one may replace either or all of Melbourne,Geelong and Essendon -
Freo
St.Kilda - Should improve with all thayt talent, but the Saints history indicates otherwise.
Hawthorn - much the same as last year

Might be close, but doubtful
Richmond - depends, if their stars can fire and stay fit, but they are too reliant on just a few players.

Not much hope of making the finals
Bulldogs
Sydney
North
Carlton

Just my thoughts, without much bias.

Cheers

Obviously Sydney would be starting as hot favourites, but if they have an horrific run with injuries, suspensions, and bad luck, then I guess it could be out of:
Brisbane,
Port,
WC,
Adel or
Freo.

Can see a vic team breaking the top 6.

Please, please keep writing off Collingwood. I want it to hurt you so much more when we are sitting pretty in the top 3 or 4 all year!!

Anything less than a flag in 2003 will be seen as a step backward by Collingwood. That would be hell on earth.
3rd or 4th would be a "gradual decline".
5th -8th would be officially a "downward spiral"
Out of the 8 would be officially make 2002 a "flash in the pan".

Hmmm. Hawthorn did exactly what I expected last year. Nothing.

I predict an Adelaide V Brisbane GF, but much as I'd like to I can't see Adelaide taking the prize.

Mucho water to go under the bridge yet though. Can't wait.

Good deduction Einsten.

Same goes for Brisbane.

And Carlton's year is certain to be a success - at worst they will tread water.

I predicted the same thing too ...

I reckon Brisbane may go three straight, really depends on injuries, but they have excellent depth, and callabre of players they have would make up for any lack of depth anyway.

Adelaide could be interesting with the Carey factor. They will either succeed and come top 2, or they will fail miserably and struggle to make the finals, interesting scenarios.

Port will be up there, once they win their first finals match, watch out.

Collingwood will be thereabouts, but I dont think they will make the Grand Final again next year.

As much as I would like to say Sydney, I think we have a couple years of re-development.
