Early tips for Grand Final!

HA HA HA HA HA! Until today I haven't been able to enjoy the Crows misery as much as usual, but how that's changed!

Port Adelaide are now the pride of South Australia. The Crows? Well they're just 'The Rest of South Australia'.

This must be as bad as it gets for Crows fans. Crows beaten by an innings at the WACA and Port thrashing one of the premiership fancies. Even wooden spoon masters St Kilda are in front of you! And now you have to face a desperate Brissy Lions on their home ground.

ZERO and FIVE coming up - NINE losses in a row! Crows plumbing new depths. Great to see!

I can't at the moment see the Swans there! They have a good team, but they'll have to win in Melbourne a fair bit if they are to get there. And after Collingwood beat the the other night, I think they will struggle against the likes of Essendon and probably the Dgos. But we'll see. Anyone else?

This is just a feeling but, I'm not sure about North Melbourne this year. They will certainly make the 8, but I don't think they are anywhere near as good as some as the teams in the competition at the moment, however your are right, they do know when to peak!

Four way dance down to Dons/Dogs/Lions and Roos. Gut feeling I think the Doggies may actually do something this year and play a decent August. They wont have to worry about September. Jsut a thought.

We have already won once in Melbourne and I think we have got a good chance in picking up the points against Carlton at Optus Oval in Round 8 and I also fancy our chances against Richmond at Colonial Stadium in Round 21 - but thats a long way off yet.

Sure, maybe the Swans are not quite there just yet but if we can make the most of our long run of SCG games in this early part of the season and pick up a couple on the road we could finish the season with 12-15 wins and in a position to give the finals a good shake.

But who knows ? - Its too early in the season, we won't know who is going to be there in September untill Round 11 at the earliest which makes all the loud postering by Bombers fans on this forum all the more stupid, especially in light of what happened to the Dons last season, you would have thought they had learned something from that experience ?

And I guess you think already that the Bombers are home and dry again this year HAHAHA ?

What a joke Essendon really are - they have the best depth, the best players, the best coach, the best off-field administration but can they win a flag ?

No

Can they even reach a Grand Final ?

No

You Bomber fans should just keep your mouths shut at this early part of the season, personally if I were a bombers fan I wouldn't start boasting untill about 5pm on Grand Final day

If you get there that is - self confidence is one thing but stupid complacency is another.

Oh, and HAHAHA : again its just so easy for stupid people to fire off cheap shots and not debate the issue. Most other footy fans on this site are civilised or at least insult in a joking way.

Your cowardly malice betrays you for the fool you really are....

From what everyone has said I gather that we all think that they are "EARLY" tips to make the Grand Final. Bloodstained Angel has raised so VERY valid points, exactly the same thing I was argeing about with 2 Essendon supporters only yesterday. I fear that complacency maybe a factor, it certainly is off the field at the moment among its supporters and "maybe" it will effect on field peformances in the finals, this is a BIG maybe. However I don't agree that Kevin Sheedy is the best coach, I believe that at the moment Essendon's skill and talent is a cut above the rest, and is because of this factor that they are where they are at the moment.

Back to the complacency- confidence is a great thing but over confidence is what will destroy a team when it matter, Essendon will need to be careful of this towards the end of the season, especially in finals time. I think there will be a smokey in the Grand Final this year, well I don't know if you can call the Bulldog's smokeys but I believe that they may sneak in if they don't choke again, or maybe another smokey no one expects. We will wait and see. I will probably post a topic of similar nature about round 10 to see how the attitude has changed if it has at all.

see the name i'm being humble
What the hell is wrong with being confident ?
Bagging your own team is not in Essendons nature (mine anyway)
If we lose a final we lose a final , then worry about next year. If you take Essendon during Sheeds reign we have had premiership wins night and day. Sure we'd like more but no team dominates year after year do they?
At least under Sheeds we play in the finals (what! missed only two times I think) At least we have something to look forward to.
What are most teams objective ? beat frem, melb or say rich ok BUT beat Essendon WOW that is something.
Just goes to show how great we are doesn't it.
BA i'm sorry about the cracks about Librians( although bulldozer driver would be more exciting)

Bloodstained angel... you are a very intelligent person. Obviously far smarter than any of the other people here.

Very Impressed - you make me laugh well done, BA is very intelligent and far more intelligent than anyone on this web site.... very nice.

Its a little off the subject but i have a question. People are saying that Nth was the team of the 90s but i think its WCE now i know im an eagles fan but here me out. This is who won in each year of the nineties.
90-Collingwood
91-Hawthorn
92-West Coast Eagles
93-Essendon
94-West Coast Eagles
95-Carlton
96-Nth Melbourne
97-Adelaide
98-Adelaide
99-Nth Melbourne

Now the only teams to win two premierships in the nineties is wce, adel and North but out of the three the Eagles are the only team to make the finals every year. So i think the team of the decade is West Coast not North. So now all you Victorians can write in and disagree but the facts have been said

HaHaHaHa

I don't think anyone is denying that Essendon are a great team and a great club. If my Swans were half as successful as your guys have been over the years I'd be a happy man. But what I'm trying to point out to you and other bomber fans is that you guys are alone in being boastfull and big-noting your team while the season has only just started.

Given your recent history of good home and away seasons followed by nasty losses in the finals, I would have thought a 'softly softly' approach would be more advisable if you guys don't want to end up with eggs on your faces in September (again?)

And yeah hahahaha, much as I like my job and believe in what I'm doing, at the end of the day I would rather be driving a bulldozer...

Very impressed is not BA in disguise. There is more than one Swans supporter in this world! And we are all very intelligent.

BA

Very few of us Essendon folk are big noting the team's efforts so far... Port, Freo, Richmond and undermanned Hawks - so what????

However, come September and if we happen to come out on top - I don't think there'll be that much wailing either from most of us - just a huge goddammn sigh of relief if we finally get reward for talent and effort....
