We don't have a list afaik however I can give you one.

2011
Nick Smith
LRT
Paul Bevan

Doubt we will lose either LRT or Nick Smith as we have plenty of salary cap space and they are required players.

2012
Reid
Rohan
JPK
ROK
McVeigh
McGlynn
Bird
Malceski
Bolton
White
TDL
Shaw

So as you can see next year will be the one we need to lock up a lot of players, we do ave a decent bit of cap space though with recent retirements

I can't see anyone that is in our best 22 choosing to leave, but I suppose it depends what sort of cash is being thrown around next year.

Someone can correct me if I have missed a re-signing in the 2012 lot

GWS would be crazy not to throw huge amounts of cash at Rohan and Reid. The rest I either don't think would leave or don't think they'd be interested in due to wrong age bracket/not good enough.

LRT definitely signed an extension during the year. 2 year extension IIRC. Pretty sure Smith is signed on past the end of 2011 as well.

2012 is a huge year for our list. Really need to get cracking on signing up a fair chunk of that list.

Rohan and Reid's managers would be stupid to tell them to sign up now. The closer it gets to the end of next season, the more money we'll throw at them to stay. Whether they leave or not, I think we may have a nervous wait for a while next year.

Of course. Same with JPK. All 3 could be on the verges of big pay days.

Going to be a worrisome 12 months.

Gazza already signed a contract earlier this year? And I'm fairly certain JPK came up on a four-year contract. McGlynn was the one on the three-year contract, and I heard on TFS that he already signed another one earlier in the season. I think most of those players would be signed up past the end of next year, but it just hasn't been reported much. I wouldn't be surprised if Sam Reid is already signed up:p

There is nothing official on Rohan resigning at the moment, there was something in an article a few months ago in his hometown paper, but nothing from the swans official website

http://www.redandwhiteonline.com/wiki/index.php?title=2011

It is wiki so might not be 100%

You would think though if it his hometown paper that Rohan must have told them himself. So I would definitely be trusting that source over the link you posted above. Lets hope so anyway.

Re: Brendan Fevola?

Played a shocker, got reported, drank himself stupid, threw up in the pub, escorted out of a restauarnt after a fight by the police. What part of d^ckhead don't you get?

And this is after he gave up the grog.

The answer is NO so move on

There's a thread on the Dogs board advocating trading Shaun Higgins.

I know there are question marks over him but he's a brilliant footballer at best and surely would be ideal being fed by our hard-going ballgetters.

I have previously proposed a look at Port's Danyle Pearce for a similar sort of role but Higgins would be well ahead of Pearce if I had a choice.

What would we have to offer for Higgins? Anyone else think he'd be worth asking about?

I'd give our first rounder (around pick 20?) but that's going to Tom Mitchell and I doubt we can finagle another first rounder from a package consiting of fringe players like Seaby, Bevan, Moore or TDL.

What Grim said. Would love Higgins at Sydney but gonna be difficult for us to get him with our first rounder going towards bagging Mitchell and not a lot else to trade with in terms of commodities that aren't required players.

It would have to be someone like LRT or Grundy (Teddy is our best defender in my mind and untouchable after this year and AJ is too young and potentially good to trade) to be put up for trade if we were to get a biggish fish like Higgins. I'm not advocating for either to be traded away from the club (I want both to stay) but if you want something decent you have to offer something decent.

So in conclusion, I wouldn't bother with Higgins (only due to the lack of pieces to trade on out part) and go for Pearce who we could possibly get for something cheaper than Higgins.

I think Grundy could definitely get the job done considering Bulldogs lack of height down back. But LRT would definitely not get the job done, too old and injury prone. Would have to throw in something considerable with LRT.

I wouldn't be giving Grundy up either. Our defence is the area where we are the oldest and will have a lot of players retiring from, so cannot afford to lose a key defender of Grundy's calibre IMO.

I would be going for Danyle Pearce, wouldn't be the first player tagged at the Swans so I could see him increasing his output considerably if he had the right work ethic. I'm pretty sure he is out of contract aswell, which could mean that we could get him cheaper.

I definitely think we could get the best out of Pearce, and there's no doubt he has sublime skills when he gets everything going his way, but Higgins is a better footballer all-round. So,in essence, I agree that it's probably going to be easier to stitch up a deal to get Pearce, but geez, if the Dogs were keen to trade Higgins, don't they need an experienced ruck, with that bearded bloke retiring? So Seaby, or even Dan Currie (much as I'd like us to persist with him) could be possible. I mean, with someone else, maybe Meredith.

I doubt the Dogs would bother with Seaby. Between Cordy and Roughead I think they have their ruck spot stitched up for a while. May as well get them playing now. If they want an experienced ruck to help them teethe though, Seaby could be a target for them. I just doubt it though. And with those 2 young ruckmen, I highly doubt they'd take on Currie.

Apologies if this has already been covered in this thread.

There are apparently rumours (from posts on other boards inc drafts and trading) about the Tigers trading Jackson to the Swans in return for your second round pick.

A couple of questions:

Have there been similar rumours in sydney?
What do you think of the proposed trade?

The only other Tiger player mentioned in this thread was Will Thursfield. Whilst he looked like he was on his way out last year, this year with Moore looking like his career might be over (secondary to a degenerative hip), I don't think we would be keen to trade him.

No offence mate, but Daniel Jackson would be the last player that we were after, so I call bullshit on that rumour. We already have enough inside midfielders with questionable disposal skills, so I really cannot see us getting him. He also wouldn't displace any of the other midfielders in the side, like Kennedy, O'Keefe, McGlynn, Jack, Hannebery, Parker etc. He is also too undisciplined and doesn't set a good example.

No offence taken. I don't believe it either, but it has been persistently repeated (by non Tiger/Swan supporters) and so I've come looking for more info.

I wouldn't write this one off too quickly. I think Jackson has been linked to Sydney in previous trade rumours, and while he does come across as an undisciplined tosser, he's got a big boot on him and might be another one we can turn into a better player. With Kennelly gone, I could see him filling a role off halfback for us, and he's certainly not the worst footballer going around.
