So what do you think we have that Melbourne would want that we have (that would also be a reasonable deal for both parties)?

Good question. Melbourne may ask for Malceski id imagine.

Not that I would give that up but still, it's a hard ask isn't it to come up with a plan.

I'm an emotional being with a number of players and the players id offer wouldn't get the deal done.

I'll put the deal up tommorrow when I plot it.

Given Lovett can play some good footy in the VFL or wherever, I think he is a near certainty to find another club. Krakouer got another chance after being incarcerated after all. Though his run in the WAFL was extraordinary.

I would pass on him, but I'm convinced he will get a go somewhere.

With all due respect apart from Goodes
there isn't a player on your list that would be fair compensation for Hurley.
Even Goodes would be crazy. 10+ years of a potential superstar v 3 winding down years of a great.

Those saying no to Lovett and yes to Sylvia need to remember Sylvia's past deeds. I'd say yes to both. Although if Jetta comes good there is no point with Lovett. Sylvia fits the Sydney mould with his playing style.

Sorry Aussie

To my knowledge Sylvia's misdeeds with were substances that were legel, have I missed something?

I know I will be accused of double standard but despite the outcome of the trial there is nothing to be proud of Lovetts actions even if they were legal. And before I'm accused of racism I would have taken Krakour had we the guts before the pies.

there are too many stories about Lovett around Melbourne and I believe at least some of them.

I agree with Cas.

It wasn't just the rape allegations either. Lovett was very undisciplined off the field. He's getting on a bit in years now too.

Wow. McVeigh and Mal for Hille. I had to stop reading after that.

Yep, a bizarre trade idea given the Swans' list. Hille isn't a Leigh Brown type, he is a traditional first ruckman, something we arguably have at least two of already on our list, maybe three (given Pyke's injuries this year have prevented us seeing just how much he has developed). All of Seaby, Pyke and Mumford are younger than Hille.

And what we lack is some outside finishers with a bit of class. I know McVeigh isn't as consistent as we would like, and Mal's knees have cost him time and form, but both have at least some classy skills at times.
Why we would give away two mid-aged players who have something of what we currently most lack, for something we arguably already have too much off, is a bit puzzling.

With our engine room grunt looking in good shape (Parker, Mitchell, Hanners, Kennedy, Jack, Bird potentially if he graduates from tagging as well as Bolton and ROK for another year or two), McVeigh should be able to be released from ever playing onball so he can provide a bit more around the half forward line.

No, Essendon supporters are arrogant, so it's not you and you were disrespectful. It goes to show that you don't watch any other teams closely.

Don't worry, I wouldn't take that trade as both Malceski and McVeigh are better than Hille and probably Hurley. I know for a fact, Nick Malceski is way better than Michael Hurley. :thumbsu:

It's hard to disagree with him though.

Honestly... Apart from Reid, who else on our list could give them the kind of value they can expect from Hurley over the next 10 years.

I agree with you a direct swap between one of our players and Hurley, Reid would be of the most interest to Essendon but he wouldnt be considered enought by their fans and i suspect their coaching staff by himself but this could change by the end of the year.

Reid and Hurley would not be traded unless they demanded to be and the clubs had no choice.

He said apart from Goodes, not Goodes or Reid.

I wouldn't trade Goodes, Reid, Jack or Hannebery for Hurley. That's just to name a few.

Jaeger O'Meara to Swans in exchange for Seaby + Bevan + Moore + Longmire + White or LJ (Yes LJ) & second round pick.

The way I see it, we'd have midfield dominance for a very long time not forgetting Lloyd Perris is still to come as well and with Reid + a soon to be rich FF from another club we would have one gun of a forward line and a very serviceable back line for the next 5 - 6 years.

I'd like to point out my original suggestion was Hille PLUS draft pick.

I think this should be the kid we go after except that GWS would want nobody over the age of 26 so we would need to trade the likes of White + LJ + Moore +2nd Round (basically anyone that GWS asks for)

Sylvia was out drinking and who knows what with Didak and that shooter bikie bloke Hudson on the same night it all happened but missed out on jumping in the bikies mercedes and firing shots from the top of the Bolte Bridge because he was nodding at the strip club and couldnt walk or even talk.

I believe Lovett was framed she was probably embarrassed and yeah he has history of fighting with his missus and belting her in a drunken argument but the rape one wasnt right, the girl said she thought it was Gram banging her brains out, did she think Gram was raping her? Dont think so. She went out to get drunk and hook up with footballers. He is a good player and will get picked up Lovett and Sheeds will be a good fit at GWS.

Plenty of other footballers cant throw stones we just dont read about it.

Acknowledged - but I wasn't trying to assess whether the trade presented reasonable value for two hypothetical clubs - but more whether it makes sense to trade two players who offer at least a bit of something we are short of overall, for a type of player who we apparently have in abundance.
