Just heard that Terry Wallace said the same on SEN

I'd like Taylor Walker to sign with us but I'd much prefer we have enough cash to re-sign Reid.

GWS will make a significant offer to him and his brother during the window where they are allowed to sign off contract players at the end of the year.

If we don't get Reids contract extension done this year I fear we're going to have our own Scully drama next season.

To be perfectly honest i am a bit worried about GWS in relation to Reid but we also have a lot of room in the salary cap so i would hope that would be enough to keep Reid a Swan.

While both key forwards, Walker and Reid are very different players. I wouldn't worry that chasing one means we're likely to lose another.

It seems he is saying Reid will re-sign in a couple of weeks so people don't have to worry about him going to GWS.

I'm hoping the reason we haven't heard any official news on Rohan's re-signing from the club is because they are waiting for a couple more to sign over the coming weeks and will announce them as a group ala Brisbane a few weeks ago..

Hawthorn would want heaps for him and a team like Melbourne (who I've thought for the last 2 years that they should go after Roughead) would be in a better position to go for him. More younger players to deal and higher draft picks.

I'd offer something as well but I'm battling to come up with an appropriate one. We'll be using the first round pick on Mitchell so that's out of the question, so it'd have to be 2nd round + 3rd round + at least one player of almost Roughead's calibre to appease Hawthorn I reckon.

Can't see it happening.

Are Grundy/Sumner/Mattner the only players from SA on our list? With Davis going to GWS they could be interested in Grundy + something for Walker. Johnston possibly.
