Re: Tony Armstrong

Sumner for Armstrong would probably be the most logical answer as both get to go back home, although i'd really hope that Sumner gets his shit together for us cause he certainly has pretty good potential and will have a role for us when Tadhg retires.

Re: Tony Armstrong

I grew up with Tony at high school, he was a mad Swans supporter like me, his mother used to drive us down to Melbourne to watch a few games a season.

That surely would be reason enough for him to be at least interested. Although I believe his mother has recently moved from Brocklesby to Adelaide to slay his homesickness, so that might be a deterrent.

Wish he'd gone to Sydney in the first place!

I dont know if anyone noticed this but Guy Mckenna (Suns Coach) said that they were open to trade their #4 Draft pick this year for an expierenced player http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/123549/default.aspx
They mention the obvious Kurt Tippet as a Gold Coast target who has expressed a desire to return home, if adelaide are not willing to accept this offer i think we should offer Jesse White (a local aswell) because we have LJ who can play jesse's role next year and with spangher playing so well an extra draft selection in the top 5 could be handy

Just an Idea

Re: Tony Armstrong

There was talk of him last season aswell, where it came out that he was a mad swans fan, and goodsey was his favourite player. Didn't get played much in the 1st half of the season, but when Craig got the sack he got his chance and was playing pretty good footy across half back. Became one of BT's pet players so when he did something thing you would know about it as Bt's voice would go up a few notches

You think GC would consider giving up a top 5 pick for Jesse?

They might do it for Reid, but it ain't happening with Jesse.

While I agree with you about Jesse, why would they possibly give up the number 4 draft pick for Kurt Tippett? Tippett looked very promising at one stage, but I don't think he is really that good anymore. A bit like Jesse, only a bit better.

I think BT likes him because he coached/mentored him when he was at Assumption College.

Re: Tony Armstrong

He's been discussed on the trade thread; I really like him. Saw him play a bit this year, he seemed to get more senior footy and he was getting a bit of the ball too.

I'd be happy if we got him.

White + Mal + second rounder for gold coasts first round

Either that or

Swans first pick + White for Gold Coasts first pick
but that would only make sense if we some how secured another first round pick as well and even then...

Serious question though, where does everyone see Mal playing next year or even year after? Like the team has been fine without him for most part and there are younger players knocking at the door...

Give the Eski time to recover fully from his knee. The first time round he didn't look right the same year he did it and even the year after. The following year, 2010, he was named in the AA 40 man squad. I think we need to be patient and give him a chance, not saying it's definitely going to happen again but I don't think you can start trading AA-calibre players willy-nilly.

Re: Tony Armstrong

average player

but will be worth a shot on a 2 year contract, with kennelly retiring will be good to have rohan/jetta play there with armstrong as outside mid.

I'd be happy with that and i think pick 4 is exactly what we need to get Jordan lisle to the swans and we need a good full forward. Of course for pick 4 I would want lisle and probably their first rounder.

Sumner to Adelaide for Armstrong. Straight swap, no f***ing about and it's a win win!

You are aware that scenario is in fact Tom Mitchell + Jesse White for pick 4.

They might go for that but Im sure as hell not. I don't think Jesse White is what they had in mind when trading for pick 4. White's not going to be the main focus of a big fish trade so we need to get over that line of thinking.

Trade Jesse White

I honestly believe he has run his race at this club. Just time and time again he has been asked to step up in big games, and has failed every single time. He has potential and could hold down FF if he wasn't soft in 90% of the time.

So after all that, I'd expect a first rounder for him.

Would take a 3rd/4th rounder for him.

We need LJ to prove he can be our FF alongside Sam Reid, and White is really just taking away precious game time for Lewis.

Re: Trade Jesse White

White in his current role is not taking game time away from Lewis. The dynamics of White's position is the utility second ruck play forward. A must have role with our team and one LJ cant play.

I have no doubt White's name will come at the trade table but it wont be a serious option until late in the week and it will be rather anti climatic for us.

White to Adelaide for a cut gold coast player while Tippett goes to Adelaide and the crows get pick 4

so we get.... Michael Coad
Adelaide Get Jesse White and pick 4
Gold coast get Kurt Tippett????

**** please folks example trade only

So you see, realistically putting White on the trade table is not really going to be overly exciting

Bring in Pyke for LRT, LJ in for White.

LRT is not a best 22 player when we are fully fit. Grundy, Richards and AJ will be our KPD's next year. Pyke can play up forward while providing relief for Mummy and is a very good tap ruckman and will compete alot more than White.

As good as Spang has been, I'd rather have Lamb/Parker/TDL/Jetta in the forward line than him.

HF: McGylnn - Reid - Rohan
FF: Pyke - Johnston - Lamb/TDL

That's how our forward line should look like Round One 2012 imo.

Would like to see White play a few weeks just as a key forward with pyke in the side as the second ruckman.

Key forwards with Jesse White's POTENTIAL are very hard to come by
would like to back our coaching staff to turn him around.

I think as our team and midfield improve our forwards will find it easier.

Don't think J.Pod or Hawkins are better players than White they are just in a much better team

I agree with you about Hawkins, but Pods is a hell of a lot better than White. We really need to just go all out and trade in an a-grade KPF, easier said than done though.

That is the most ridiculous trade in favour of Adelaide. Kurt Tippett isn't even worth pick 4 by himself, let alone Jesse. He is not much more than a battler, who looked good a couple of years ago but really hasn't come on.

K. Tippet + 2nd/3rd round + another hardened body to GC for Pick 4 and Marc Lock
J. White & Sumner + 2nd/3rd round to Adelaide for Marc Lock & Tony Armstrong
