Malcolm Lynch from Port is the player we should be after

Fast, skilled, bulked up finally and hopefully hungry after a couple of years out of the AFL system

Lynch was always a bit of a free spirit when he was younger. One of the more entertaining parts of being demolished by Riverview was when Lynch got the ball. He'd hold onto it for as long as possible, beat as many defenders as he could only to run towards the boundary for his shot.

Sounded like he'd drive his coach mental.

Did Lynch play in the VFL GF? If so, how did he go?

I am also hopeful the Swans will look at him for a spot on the list next year. He and Armstrong were both players eligible for a NSW rookie spot list that it was believed the Swans intended to take as such, only for them to be nabbed in the National Draft.

He was impressive especially in the second when we were down, it was his clearance work that got us back into the game. 3 inside 50's in a row that resulted in goals. Has played better games but his work helped turn the game on its head when it mattered.

Worth a rookie spot at best. Struggled in the SANFL against 'genuine' bigger bodies. He had Sandilands today?

Warnock to GWS

Mulligan, Bulldogs rookie defender. Smashed him.

Rookei spot at best I can agree with as the critisms of why he has missed to date are just but there is some improvment and maturity I think. buty in this thin draft puttingh him on a short list of a mature age rookei spot cant hurt.

Lynch will be taken probably before we get a shot at him, Valenti I hear will not be picked by GWS on a pre select. Bedford, interest?

Malcolm Lynch sounds like he has improved greatly since being given the chop by the Dogs. From the reports I've heard I can see him coming back into the AFL and having a big impact next year. Would love it to be with us.

I really wish we'd get on the older aged bandwagon more as a club. Some real beauties to be found out there.

I agree with this, they can be taken with late picks, cheap and given a year.. the thing is recruiters over the last few (quite a few) years have focussed on young talent coming through and have overlooked talent that hasent developed as quickly, also you have to think of the improvement they could get from professional training. Very low risk gambles and plenty of them.

A high percentage of kids end up pretty ordinary anyway.

Hey guys, just came on to big footy after following what you guys discuss for more than two years... I'm a die hard swan and have been keeping the bloods flowing on Yahoo Answers Aussie rules section. Great to be here...

Now, since this is trade,

I've been watching a bit of brendon fevola, his doing ok, his fitness has been holding up, and we could use him, but would this be a risk to The kids?

I reckon after Lockett, hall and shaw among others, we owe it to tradition to snap him up as no one else will, but then again, our policy is "no ********s". What'd you guys reckon?

Good to see a fellow Yahoo Answers member in Bigfooty.:)
Fev was on Adelaide radio yesterday basically saying that he's willing to go to any club even non Victorian clubs. Also hinted at a stint in the SANFL if he's not drafted.

Welcome Sydneyswans2010 we already have a thread on Fev feel free to check that out.

Would like a trade made with Brisbane for young Redden has had a great year and with Clark heading West maybe J White and our 2nd rounder thoughts? Higgins from Bulldogs also on my wishlist even tho he's battled with injuries

We can't just trade trash and get gems. Redden is rated highly by Brisbane. Not going anywhere

We have in the past lol

Examples?

Kennedy/McGlynn - Nope. Were buried behind depth before we saved them
Mumford - Rookie spot
Jolly - Buried behind Jeff White iirc
Shaw - Character issues
Mattner - Crows didn't want him
Richards - same as Jolly. Buried at Essendon
Craig Bolton - The only one you could really make a case for, and he simply wasn't getting game time in arguably the greatest team of all
Hall - Same as Shaw. I do believe we wanted Aaron Hamill ahead of Barry.
Lockett - Only one that doesn't come with a condition, and that was in a different era lol

In regards to Redden, he's within the top3 midfielders in his team, with no character issues, and his club loves him. No way does he walk
