Dunno about anyone else but i'll be tracking what this bloke says about the draft as November draws nearer. He's all over it.

What do you mean? Mortibello isn't going to be a gun?!;)

Are we calling Anthony Morabito "Mortibello" now ? :)

Bigfooty's new nickname :thumbsu:
yes thats my fault was to lazy to check the spelling same this cunnington.

but I will claim the nickname if it sticks

wonder how the commentators will pronounce it???

mentioned it in the west coast board draft discussion thread, this is how i think it will go as of now:

melb - scully
wce - trengove
melb - butcher
wce - lucas
freo - morabito

What type of player is Trengove, who does he play like or resemble in the AFL?

I would have thought that Morabito would be our first choice due to Woosha's apparent keeness on him.

Up front confession only saw final game of U18 champs, is Lucas that good.

Didn't seem that fast or have much distance to his kicking.

someone mentioned a comaprison with scotty pendlebury and i thought that was pretty spot on.

i just think he is a classy mover, good skills off both feet and can kick a goal. bit faster then scotty and a bit more solid (but not much).

If WCE get Morabito at 5, will be laughing. Wouldn't imagine Freo taking Butcher considering their skill level in the middle. Some more help for Palmer and Hill wouldnt go astray

PP Mel Scully
Freo Butcher
Mel Trengrove
NM <Lucas
WCE Morabito

North are really in need of a classy midfielder to help Wells, Zieball and Swallow out; out of Lucas & Morabito who would be the better midfielder?

The reason i ask is i have seen Morabito's name mentioned as being a great pickup, but now Lucas a player i am not aware of is picked up by us before Morabito; why?

I have revised my selections. Mel will tank to last place and a priority pick.

PP mel scully best there is
1. mel butcher best kpp in draft
2 freo morabito - need kpp but will go local
3 nm trengrove best available
4 wce lucas - compliment gifted young midfield
5 rich fitzpatrick - kpp/ruck

Elite kicking skills, massive tank, showed he can play as a lead up forward but he's a genuine outside midfielder with run and carry.

Morabito is a different mold, Morabito is pretty well balanced in terms of his ability to play inside and outside, but has freakish athletic ability and some explosive speed (ala Judd and Lids). At best he will be the best player from the draft at worst a very handy goal kicking wingman/ flanker.

fitzpatrick shouldnt even be top 10, not impressed at all.

alot of people share this view i think his had such a high expectation that his season hasn't lived up to it consistently has shown glimpse at time e.g calder kicking 5 5. i think he would have been a little disappointed by his carnival

Ok thanks for that, he just seems to have come from nowhere and to have his name mentioned is the reason i asked.

If we are going to finish low down the ladder this year then i want to know we will get the chance to snare a good young kid with lots of upside.

lol Lucas has hardly come from nowhere.

Most people had him pencilled in as a top 5 picks for well over a year now.
