Nice way to end the season, also pleased Stevo got a winning send off....easily could of won our last 3 games. Most pleasing aspect was the spread of goalkickers v SD. Obviously a few players will move on, BOB, Crichton and Stevo gone. Not sure the body status of LA, Macca or Hampson....definitely need Hampson fit n firing. Extended injury list saw a multitude of youngsters come thru....Holmes, Harding, Bennett, Burton, Bailey, O'Reilly,Ryan, Green et al provide EF with some future, just need to get some quality height up forward and back to help the likes of Winton,Jupp and Watson....few possible ex EF delistees in the pipeline....but hey its a competitive recruiting field so one shouldn't expect I guess.

Good luck to the colts, with O'Reilly and Ryan dropping back from the league plus Blurton,Nevill, Wainwright and a couple other colts eligible players from the reserves one would like to think EF stand a decent chance of going deep in the finals.

Yep true andana...Jansen is a decent size for a mid....obviously struggled at the elite level...but hey Eardley never cracked it at the elite level and is a very good mid in the WAFL....can see Jansen doing well, reckon Snadden from WCE will be close for a delisting...hopefully not for his sake...need talls tho...Watson heading home apparently...

Great win to EF young fellas....as you say andana always helps to kick straight...nice end to a long season....the league finished with three good performances against 3 finalists...losing two by less than 15 pts and winning the other by 10 goals....Ben Harding wins the Prendargast for Reserves comp F&B and the colts boys take out the flag after finishing the H&A season minor premiers.

Good even performance, good spread of goal kickers. Up to 10 boys from that side are colts eligible next sesdon plus EF had 6 guys picked in the state 16s this year....obviously not all boys will make the step up to seniors, but one can only hope a fair few of them will find their way.

That's a ridiculous claim.

And I'm fine with some further restrictions being applied to Peel/East Perth.

Sad but true! Speaking to a young league player from one of the G6 clubs at a function on Saturday night. He said he was considering playing country football in 2018 because: You only trained once a week, he has been offered significantly more $; and with the current WAFL situation he couldn't see teams other than Subiaco, Peel or East Perth having a realistic chance of premiership success.

East Fremantle have been having trouble keeping young guys at the club for the last few years. They seem to want to get a game or two then move on.

Not disagreeing that player retention in the WAFL is pretty fluent at the moment, but I think much more to do with the first two reasons whereas the third is pretty tenuous.

Yeah only young, good size and at the WAFL level could be more than handy....Jono Marsh and Jansen are similar in size and stature....hopefully the beginning of a few more key signings....

Griffen delisted, still got a year or two left in him I reckon....good mentor for EF young rucks in Cronan, Symonds, Fletcher and McGrath....also James Bristow is back on EF players list.....if Watson is going as rumoured than any and all big man on deck the better.

Congrats to Schofield on his Lynn Medal win...Harding as expected won the reserves F&B, whilst Jackson and Quill(son of ex EF and WBD player Peter?) shared the colts F&B.....

Watson says goodbye and heads back home....found his mojo in his last year with EF...deserved his 2nd placing in the Lynn Medal, carried EF ruck brigade and kicked a few goals to win EF goalkicking award. Still fell short of expectations, really thought he was gonna be that 50+ tall forward we so badly need.

Good talk about Griffen coming back, really need him to replace Watson in the ruck, Bristow apparently back so that is handy height wise too. Ibbo not playing due to a battered body after 170 odd games of AFL, might come back to EF and coach though? Still need a tall forward....mids look ok, whilst defence wise definitely need a big bodied option to handle the likes of Taberner, McInnes, Shaw, Maister, Lee etc in games...Jupp, Winton and Bailey all lack that extra height and weight to nullify these guys....

Are Peel even allowed to recruit? Thought there were restrictions on their recruiting due to the fact Freo recruit for them via the draft, ditto for WCE and EP.

Considering the likes of Read, Menagola and Chick went to Subi for flags and fortune wouldn't put it past Palmer being tempted. Palmers experience would be handy and at 28 still got a few years left in the tank. No doubt Perth will going hard at him as well, I believe they have a war chest of some sort too.

All these draft picks that wc picked up from trade week could see them drafting wafl mids. Someone like Jonno Marsh.

Reckon the likes of Schloithe or Kelly may get a looksie before Marsh....especially Kelly...the likes of Bolton and Tropiano had stand out years of late winning Sandovers yet neither Freo or WCE were interested...on paper Marsh looks the goods with his height, weight and pace....is he even interested in playing AFL?...seem to read he lacked the mental drive to play at the elite level and was happy playing down at EF....could be wrong....could only be a WA club drafting him though, due to his desire to leave Collingwood to being near family....things change though I guess.
