There's always a couple AFL rejects going around each year plus lots of kids who make up the numbers at VFL level.
Stuart Anderson is going to play with Bayswater this season and Nicky Winmar is playing at Scoresby.

Back in the 80's so many players from the eastern districts were bombers. Vanders, Salmon, Williams, Banfield, Bradbury, Walsh
etc, pretty impressive mob, the eastern districts has always produced good footballers, I wish we had the zoning back.

There are currently 22 former Eastern Football League players on AFL club lists. This is a
reflection of size of the EFL, the standard of the competition, the quality of the coaching and the
elite player program run by the Eastern Ranges and Oakleigh Chargers.
There are approximately 252,000 playing Australian football at club level in the country, the EFL
has 7500 players which represents 2.97%. The AFL has approximately 700 listed players of which
22 have come through the EFL representing 3.14%.
Please see below for some interesting statistics and an AFL team made up of ex EFL players, all
of whom have played senior and/or junior football in the EFL in recent years.
Of the 22 former EFL players listed by AFL clubs:
* 2 of the players have won club best & fairest awards.
* 2 have played in an AFL premiership side.
* 16 have played senior AFL football.
* Those 16 have played a combined 730 matches.
* The oldest player is 27 years of age.
* 15 are 22 years of age and under.
* The average age is 20.86.
* 11 have received rising star award nominations.
* 10 have played in an AFL finals.
* 14 played with the Eastern Ranges

I belive Stuart Edwards,Ty esler (ex Richmond players)and possibly Tony Brown(saints) are also playing for Scoresby this year.
