Going out to dinner tonight at Fontana Di Trevi on Pirie Street has anyone ever been there?

Is it a good place and what would you recommend.

It's very good actually. I had some chicken dish when I went there but it has a great variety and they all look good, so it will depend on your taste.

You should enjoy yourself there tonight. :thumbsu:

Just back from Enotecca Cucina and I must say my desert of chocolate praline cone, orange salad and honeycombe was delicious.

My dad got his favourite again for desert - Affogatto with Benedictine! The waiting staff cringe every time he orders it as the cost of the Benedictine alone is almost the cost of the whole Affogatto. :D

Oh and the grain fed veal for a main was quite nice to. :thumbsu:

Topped off by the 25% off with an entertainment card and it's a good night.

Morska Vila at Henley Beach overlooking the sea has delicious seafood platters amongst other meals - quality & quantity

its a Croatian restaurant/cafe with a mediterranean flavour - you can sit outside and watch the girls (or blokes)

red hot brazillian charcoal grill. 10/10.. a hidden gem in adelaide, located on gouger street.

if youre looking for something a bit different with a superb range of meats.. and have a rather large appetite i cant recommend this place enough :D

theres a range of meals u can choose from but the best one to go is the all u can eat option, where your given for starters a bowl of freshly cooked brazillian style hot crispy chips and salads. then the main course begins. the waiters come out with a range of meats including pork spare ribs, chicken breast, lamb, pork, and a few others and bring it to u fresh from the spit.. you can either say yes or no and this continues throughout the night until ur bursting at the seams :D the meat is top notch and very reasonably priced at $32 all u can eat.

highly recommend it :D (i sound like an advert)

Typo Stiffy?

Or have you already had a few noce reds this afternoon.

But I will get a nice bottle of Jacob Creek Sauvignon Blanc and the company will drown away (note – the line about the poor company was just a joke) :D

Edit: fixed :thumbsu:

Went with friend last week to the Barossa and amongst the other wineries we spent time at Jacobs Creek wine tasting and then had lunch there.

It has its own restaurant which looks out on the vineyards and the food was superb.

Certainly worth trying if you're ever looking for a day out including lunch and you've got a few spare dollars to spend.

If not, there's nothing wrong with a pasty and a cake from Lyndoch Bakery!! :) :thumbsu:

Agree - a friends dad has his 50th birthday dinner their about 8 months ago and the food is just divine. The prices of the food isn’t that different (in comparison) to the same in the city. But it is well priced.

But I agree with what you have said other than the Lyndoch bakery but there is nothing wrong with a good pie or pastry from a good bakery. That ones just not very good IMO.

What I really like about Lyndoch bakery is their Streusel Kuchen (German cake), which is very authentic tasting. I always buy some whenever we go past there.

Gawler South bakery beats any other bakery I know hands down with its huge range of excellent pies and cakes. Pasties are first class as well. :thumbsu:

It's the only bakery I know where I can still get those 3 corner jam tarts made of puff pastry - one of my favourites!! :thumbsu: :thumbsu: :)

If anyone is down or goes down to the Victor Harbor/Port Elliot/Middleton area I cannot reccomend the upgrade to Stranded's menu highly enough. It's gone Mexican and is absolutely delicicous. Also worth checking out is the Hotel Elliot across the Strand:thumbsu:

Hotel Elliot is run by the guy who turned The Hahndorf Inn into top class hotel, which he sold for millions. I am assuming he will do the same thing with the Elliot.

Have you ever been to a bad bakery but?

IMO most bakeries are good (some excel and stand out from the rest) but overall most are good and when you come across a bad one it very rear.
yeah fair call, but I am pretty fuissy with my pies, never really been a fan of bakery pies, I am a balfours man with my pies. Every time I go to a bakery its a potatoe pie for me, like you said, they never get it wrong.

Champion.

You will NEVER find a better Yiros than Savvas.

Have you been to the one on Hindley St. I think its called Yannis ( same side as Mojo's and the World's End in the west part of Hindley St. All their meat is cooked over the coals, bloody fantastic.

Not sure if Savvas is cooked over the coals but ever since I moved back from Melbourne I have refused to eat a Yiros unless the meat is cooked that way. The whole upright electric/gas rotisserie is just not up to scratch!!

If you want somewhere a little more sophisticated I recommend

Thai - Tongue Thai'd on Henley Beach Rd (Saw Goodie there enjoying a meal one night so its gotta be good:cool:). Thai Orchard at Henley Square is pretty nice as well.

Contemporary Cuisine - Stella's @ Henley Square or Lenzerheide on Belair Rd

Chinese - Ying Chow's on Gouger St (not really sophisticated but the food is great!!)

Steaks - Gaucho's on Gouger St

Indian - Urban India on Henley Beach rd or Spice Kitchen on Kensington Rd

Italian - 10 Cucina E bar on O'Connell.

Greek - Kefi's on Tapleys Hill Rd.

Thats a few from the top of my head, plenty of others out there though.:thumbsu:
