#18 to us, offer it to WCE?

If we got pick 18 and that got us Brad Ebert we would have done well.

He's good enough to hold a best 22 spot, although he needs a bit of work on his disposal. On the other hand a draft pick at 18 is purely speculative.

In short, yeah, I'd give #18 for Brad Ebert.

Would give up very little for him. Too slow with questionable disposal. He would be on the fringe of our best 22. I say no, let Port have him as he has not overly impressed and does not appear to have much upside.

We do not need anyone with average disposal. We have more than enough of this type. Ban anyone who suggests a trade for a player with questionable disposal;)

Players with questionable disposal give me the shits too mate.

i think Ebert would be better than anyone you would get at Pick 18 in this weak draft

In Perth on the news, they are saying the Crows are in the box seat, according to someone I know over there atm.

The media knew so much that according to them Dean Bailey was joining Port Adelaide.

Port have got picks 6, 28 and 31. Pick 6 will be paying way overs so that won't happen. Pick 28 won't satisfy West Coast so I can't see that happening either.

Maybe Pick 28 and 31 for Ebert would get the job done, but for a player picked at 13 and considered a required player, you would think they (WCE) would want more than that.

Port have very little currency to work with in terms of trade bait. Maybe it will be to hard to strike a deal with Port. If we want him, then Ebert may have to come to us.

I rate him. Wouldn't mind picking him up. As long as we don't pay overs for him. Port may pick him up for free in the PSD.

At least now West Coast supporters can't get on their high horses about the Crows having a 'poor culture' and having their players leave for other clubs.

But...but...but I thought Adelaide was such a boring place for young people to live, that no one in their right mind would request a trade here.

West Coast would probably want our pick #10 which is way overs IMO. I see Brad as a poor man's van Berlo rather than Vince as he has no trouble finding the ball, but he always seems rushed with his disposal. Still, I think we should hold talks with West Coast about him - even if only to bump up the price Port have to pay. :D

I have no doubt that we will at least talk to West Coast about him.

If a Cornes can play for the Power, then an Ebert can play for the Crows.

Having said that, I have no doubt he is going to the Power and may well be a very good player for them.

Should have always been at the Power if the AFL truly recognise them as the PAFC pre 1997. His father Craig played over 100 games for Port in the SANFL. No different to some VFL player playing 100 games pre 1990 and his son playing for them. It is the spirit of the F/S rule. Have seen him at a few Power games pre being drafted in a Power jumper watching on. I was one that wanted him when we got Danger, but that has past now.

However if we could steal him cheaply he could be worthwhile. He is a big bodied mid and if living in his home state may blossom into the player he should be. But would not want to pay what WCE want for him. So pretty much a pass.

Just like the Perth media announced that Burns had the coaching job?

I like Macca23's suggestion that we keep Port honest and at least make an offer. So they don't get him for nothing

I'd be making a play for him, obviously I see him in a better light than some but the lad does not lack anything in the courage or physicality departments and can certainly find the pill, only downside is his disposal can be a tad iffy under pressure, though nowhere near as bad as some of our supporters would have us believe!! Just like we are suggesting to opposition suitors of Gunston's services we would be lucky to pick up a player of Brad's ability in this draft.
