Everyone shanks kicks. Yes it was a shank. But it was one kick. Let's judge him on this when we see him try to do this sort of kick 10 times at least. Get him in the midfield more he was good tonight.

I’m not sure how much you have watched of him, but to me, he is not that good of a kick. That concerns me as he is seen as our best young mid ( not including Naicos ) for the future. no where near elite with his disposal

I reckon I am bucking the trend a bit here but I reckon Allan was one of our best not that he had a lot to compete with but there were positive signs.

I thought Allan showed positive signs today seemed to find the ball well and has good hands and speed. Come to think of it he might even be in with a good chance to get the rising star nom this round, There won’t many other players across both games who where eligible and really stood out.

Showed he has AFL traits. I don't care if he's fluffing the odd kick or two, he shows he understands the game and his role.

Hope he gets given a lot of opportunity throughout the year.

Bingo. He played VFL footy yesterday by that I mean you don’t have to work as hard both ways or give the same level of second and third efforts. IMO, he’s being given a pass on here because he’s young, but you can’t do that when you’re trying to win premierships.

He doesn’t have the same talent, but you can see what a couple of extra pre-seasons and experience can do when you look at Callaghan. That kid is thick like prime Fyfe and lost none of his running power. That’s the level I want Allan to get to and he’s a long way off currently.

Keep playing him. We need blokes who can seriously run.

Excited to see him develop this year. Just want to see the coaches back Allan and Reef in and give them a proper run of games.

Drop the experienced underperformers like Lipinski and Schultz if they need scapegoats for the performance to bring JDG/Houston into the side.

I'm not even sure he ever will. I haven't seen any inside mid prowess. I would persist with him on the wing because the wings, along with our midfield, is a real problem. We just aren't getting the run from our wings with players like Lipinski and Sidebottom playing there. Yesterday I saw on multiple occasions where players were just running away from Lipinski because they knew he couldn't catch them. Not fast players either. My hope is that JDG returns and plays really well all year or we could miss the 8

I still think he’s a year off being a regular, can get pushed off the footy easily and defensively has some things to work on.

That being said, was very good with his hands in traffic and has some elite attributes with his speed and size.

Agree, thought he showed great attributes. Would have liked to see a few more CBA. Needs to stick those tackles.

It was really obvious yesterday. I agree that sidey is going better but we shouldn't be expecting him to play too much wing these days, better suited rotating at half back. Persist with alllen on the wing, he looks good there
