We only have 9 players on our list with a Rising Star nomination, one of the lowest tallies in the AFL:

2 of those players were nominated with another club (Houston and Mitchell).

There are 9 players currently on AFL lists who have a second Rising Star nomination, but they've only been counted once here.
The defensive positioning gap is miles wideplease change my mind (not having a go), but whats the difference between ed allen and caleb poulter?

It's crazy to think the depth we have at the moment, We still have HH, Reef, Degoey and Mcstay to come back from injury.
Wow, how'd i forget them.Plus Maynard
Plus Mitchell
Need them for the award to be higher profile. Ollie Dempsey winning last year was better for the award than Wardlaw who is highly promising but hadn't done enough. All well and good, but I don't think a player in his 3rd year on a list should be eligible.

It's hard to find the window. You have to get up really early. But not so early that you still aren't sober from the night before.I might try this sober trick one of these days.
.... I said "might".
Ablett jnr. never got one either, so fair to say players can still go on and have a decent career even if they don't ever get nominated!!Hopefully Sidebottom gets a nom at some stage this year; he’s definitely due.
Yes indeed, I do know how these things work! Though if I was a West Coast fan I'd be asking "why do we have bugger all decent young talent when we've been sh** for so long"?!You know there's a direct correlation between being shit and getting good picks, right?

Let them try Dempsey on Ed. They'll be the ones who lose outSomeone mentioned Dempsey as Ed’s match up when we next play Geel, but I’d equally see him as capable of matching up on Smith or Holmes.
Great to have a kid with the athletic profile to match these guys.
That sort of post could cost you star billing in the new negative posters threadI think all he's lacking is some confidence, hopefully the rising star will help that.
He's gonna be a lovely size in 1-2 more preseasons
Aged wellThat Allan gets dropped while the 36 yo Scott Pendlebury is nursed to an AFL games record is an indictment of a bewildering club list strategy that begun with the recruitment of Schultz and continues to this day with the recruitment of Membrey. Fly's statement that he wants players, not draft picks, will hurt the club for the next five years until we start rejuvenating the list with high quality draft picks such as the ones that Richmond picked up and contributed to their win against Carlton.
Wow, that's one of the dumbest posts I've ever seen on BigFooty, and I've seen some of my own.Aged well
