Getting there. It’s a slow burn but that happens with players. Showing some good signs.
It’s a bit like Ned’s progress, slow burn and then went bang early in the year.
He's actually elite in all these categories, it's just the way the AFL has written the script. They've written him in as a heel to Collingwood supporters.Has some things to work on:
I want to see more desperation in his game to win the ball offensively and applying resolute defensive pressure. I just don't see him making it as I don't think he is competitive enough. Doesn't have his father's will to compete/win.
- reading of the play (knowing when to attack/defend and backing yourself)
- indecisiveness (seems to enjoy just hanging around spectating - but not offering much either offensively or defensively)
- composure (often makes unforced fumbling/decision making errors)
- sloppy disposal (loopy, slow handballs that don't hit the target)
- using his speed and endurance to advantage (don't see it often enough).

If his marking and contest work continues to improve, I think that'll be added in as an option of how he gets used. With his running he could become a real line breaker from the back half.I want to see him developed as a defender. He drops back into defence a lot and I tend to notice him when he does this, that he does his best work there.
Allan as the Lizard and Cochran as Weddle - I'd like that!If his marking and contest work continues to improve, I think that'll be added in as an option of how he gets used. With his running he could become a real line breaker from the back half.
His running is such a weapon, but he's not there yet - needs to improve ball use and contest work to hold a place for finals in this team - if everyone is fit.
Yeah he’ll have a bit more ressies time for sure. Bruzzy, Shoota, Bobby, Beau, Gooey all to come back. But I did see little sign of things. Hopefully. It is a slow burn, and I’m not quite on board yet. But I’m still open to the possibility - probability? - of Ed making it.
The coaches are giving him every chance, although with some top players to return he may lose his spot when the squeeze happens.

Ed’s head could never get that punchable.Allan as the Lizard and Cochran as Weddle - I'd like that!
To then become one of the best rovers in the competition? That would also be okay with meI was thinking more of a half back runner who is solid overhole in a defensive hole than a tall with dash. I think he should be modelling off Max Holmes - wing and half back with serious dash, who is gradually becoming good on the inside too.
He's a chance of becoming a gun with his attributes if he can add strength, but what's looking most likely at the moment is him developing into an Ed Langdon level wing or if he moves to defence - a better version of Markov once he gets stronger in the contest. To then become one of the best rovers in the competition? He's far too athletic, handsome and talented to really excel in my starring role of an undersized overweight ruckman. Maybe one day Ed can reach such lofty heightsOnly a big guy like yourself would see Ed as a rover. To me he's a giant

Standing next to me he'd look like Aaron Sandilands while I'd looking like a smaller Stewie Dew.Only a big guy like yourself would see Ed as a rover. To me he's a giant
