Squiggle tips Hawks at 66% chance -- What's your tip? -- Injury Lists » -- All Rd 12 Games
Allan is obviously physically a better chance, yet the outcome remains largely similar at senior level - that’s the frustrating part to meIs Allan becoming the new fin mcrae? Just dominating the lower level, but an absolute deer in the headlights at the AFL level.
Ed's a chance - by using his speed to burst, he's developing a usable weapon - Finn was just as vanilla as it gets.Allan is obviously physically a better chance, yet the outcome remains largely similar at senior level - that’s the frustrating part to me

One thing sticking out to me is his tackling. Checking his stats he’s had 7,7 and 5 in the 3 games. Significant improvement to last year where he’d usually have around 2 or 3 per game. Only one area but he’s unprovedEd's a chance - by using his speed to burst, he's developing a usable weapon - Finn was just as vanilla as it gets.
I hope so. I’ve not been able to watch the VFL, but I am wary about him. If the coaches start trusting him in the middle at the top level I’ll get excited again.Ed's a chance - by using his speed to burst, he's developing a usable weapon - Finn was just as vanilla as it gets.
We need a mad scientist lab for this conundrum, to merge 3 into 1.No room in our 22 for all of Long Anderson and Allan. Might only be room for one of them! Great to see Ed in rich form and he’ll be in consideration to come in at the expense of one these guys
Welcome to Collingwood Nathan FyfeWe need a mad scientist lab for this conundrum, to merge 3 into 1.
Ned Long's physique and strength
Ed Allan's height and pace (same height as Ned)
Angus Anderson's game awareness and set shot goal kicking.
Ed sure does seem to nail most of his goals on the run streaming out the the centre square in the VFL, hint hint Fly.
I saw clips of those two goals he kicked in the VFL,and I think there’s absolutely no reason why he couldn’t reproduce that form in the AFL.The problem seems to be all in his head,ie,confidence. He needs to feel that he belongs in the AFL.I would definitely persist with him,as there’s clearly a lot to work with here.
Ha ha, yes...They're good mates!
Yep was about to say similar myself, whether we value tackling, leg speed, or goal sense more.We need a mad scientist lab for this conundrum, to merge 3 into 1.

They were under no pressure because no one could keep up with him. They were two brilliant goals running at full pace. Not falling for his two goal (under no pressure you expect him to kick them)
Not a late bolter as he hardly played with a back stress fracture so he started a bit behind with his development. Might click or it might not but he's stringing together a lot of to good for VFL performances as a mid.Wasn't Ed a late bolter even in his draft year? Could be the same pattern plays out as a senior player where he needs more time in the system before he becomes comfortable and makes his mark.
The hope is that he is still developing. As a 6 foot 4, 21 year old he still could mature more physically. He is very athletic, but his skills are still below par. But with a more mature body who knows? It will be a choice at the end of the year. Do we want Allan for another year, or one of Pendlebury, Howe, Sidebottom, Sullivan, Membrey or Smit? Not falling for his two goal (under no pressure, you expect him to kick them) he basically did nothing after that - He has ZERO intensity, can't tackle, no second effort, no good overhead for a guy 6 foot 4. no left foot and most of all he is avg.
Call it like I see it - I used to be a huge fan of this guy but like anything else the definition of insanity is to do the same thing over and over and expect a different result!
The one hope is that he continues to perform in the VFL and some other team reckon he is worth a second rounder come trade period.
Lets move on.
