nothing like goodes apart from pace and height, love the way he converts when he has a shot at goal.
will be a star in his own right, would love to see him play on Buddy when we play the hawks.

Still has to learn to read the play, but that will come the more games he gets
under his belt.Agree, great kick, full of confidence when he kicks for goal, can only get better.

Good player. But i think he lacks the natural ability that indigenous players seem to have. Barlow will become a key player for us for many years to come, but i wouldn't expect him to reach the heights of what Goodes is currently at. (A dual Brownlow medalist remember!)

Not a Goodes, doesn't play as smooth and silky. For a lanky fella he's a real tough nut. Love his game, knew he'd be a ripper from his first game in Brisbane last year.

he will be better than goodes
Phwoar. Huge call.

Ed Barlow will probably be like the next Adam Goodes. His skills aren't that flash but he can only get better. He is so tall, lanky and gangly looking. Needs to beef up a bit I reckon. However, I like the fact that he takes risks and occasionally taking on his opponents. I like that.

Enjoyed those two goals he kicked last Saturday.

I love how Roos has blooded new players this year. Barlow is a wonderkid and will be up there for brownlow contention in a few year. Jack is a tough nut and will be an in and under player like Kirk but with much more pace. Bird is also a beauty. Lets see them rip apart the Kangas this sunday. GO SWANNIES!!!

I am not so sure about this. His skills seem pretty good to me. Also, he can kick goals better than Goodes. Is yet to miss in AFL footy IIRC.
He scored a behind at the weekend, though not from a set shot. It was an opportunistic scrub that went across the face of goal and rolled in the wrong side of the posts.

Add another 50 games under his belt and it would have been a goal. Seemed to rush it a tad.

If he learns to have a sooky la la every time he breaks up with his girlfriend he could get pretty close.
stupid post,never happened to you?
Let's not forget this is the second year in a row we have had to put up with him playing like crap because of a "relationship breakup".
Perhaps he should try celibacy, at least till his footy career is over anyway....

OH! Thats right. I guess I was pointing out that so far his skills at AFL level have been very very good. His pass to Bazza a few games ago, and his goal kicking accuracy. He will only get better.

I was just being pennickity.

Agree with you totally that his skills are pretty impressive and his set-shot taking is sensational.

The improvement in his game since his first season on the rookie list is staggering. Back then you could have filled a whole blooper tape just with his efforts. Even then, though, he had some x-factor about him and most of his bloopers were probably decision making errors / trying to do too much rather than keep things simple.

If he ever gets the confidence and know-how that Goodes has about where to run to make full use of his athletic ability, we're going to have a mighty fine player on our hands.

Sanecow you are a fool no need for negative crap and is2swans dont worry i wasnt being realistic hes not as good as goodes and probably wont be but he is my fav player and is good mates with my brother. He has a lot of potential though. Funny thing is though apparently he never was a star at Scotch and was only suprisingly picked up by the swans but the swans do that they turn (no offence) not so good players into good players.

None taken - look at Kirky.

Barlow looks an excellent prospect but he is a long way from Goodes...at the moment. Don't forget what Goodes is like on fire, the guy has very few equals and can play almost anywhere and has one of the biggest engines in the game. It would be great if Barlow got to be as good though.
