he's not though
There will be a lot of interest in how Hughes goes at Worcerstershire - where he is playing for the entire season.
Just looked it up and his start has been delayed to May.

Slightly disappointing IMO.
Though if Klinger performs well he could be a smokey for Ashes selection.
We can't dump Cowan, he's our specialist short leg!
3 catches so far this dig and 5 for the series![]()
I can see them bringing back Haddin to keep and open up with Wade.
He reminds me of the role Chopra used to play for India when he opened with Sehwag . He has a dasher down the other end so all he needs to be solid and rotate the strike. Just like him though he has the same problem of not being able to convert starts and was eventually dropped, i can see the same problem occuring with Cowan

I'm sure Wade could open AND keep.
Yep, they won't do that. For the same reason Gilly never opened in Tests. It's just asking too much. ODIs/20-20s no worries, but certainly not Tests.I feel sorry for a bloke who has to keep for a day and then bat.
Wasn't that when Clingefeller kept? Apologies if I'm wrong. It's one of the reasons Paine's average is not crash hot.
He tried to open and keep in FC for a season and averaged about 3.
