Things that stood out for me in the video that are very pleasing...

He hit the leading target on numerous occasions under pressure, yes with a slightly awkward action but he hit it;

Put his head over the ball and never takes his eyes off it;

Was getting a lot of posessions from the centre forward creating havok in the midfield and

He is built like a brick outshouse, love it that along with his pace and endurance makes me wonder, is he on the juice????? lol:D:thumbsu:

Rapt with this pick up from what I have heard and seen on here.....

Go Blues

One question if he is one out of the box, why was not he picked up earlier? Was it the broken ankle?

Whilst I posed much the same question earlier, there are often Cinderella stories of players overlooked often and going on to forge brilliant careers, Diesel was turned down 3 times by the club before moving on to Geelong, A rookie held the cup aloft as captain this year etc etc. And we have a good recent history of turning overlooked picks into senior players.

And could there be any doubt left as to WH class? Any at all?

and his little helpers...our wa guy would be sleeping well at night

Good luck to Ed.

Was shown the door a little too early at Adelaide, I know a couple of our recruiters weren't too happy.

At Adelaide he was an interesting case, no polish at all, great endurance, ran around like a goose at times.

Has really put time into neatening up his outside game to compliment his inside strengths and to make use of his endurance.

Best of luck to him.

With the exception of O'Keeffe, who has been on our senior list for a couple of years, I really didn't know anything about most of the players who were available in this draft. However, from what has been said about Curnow, I am very happy to have him on board. He sounds like a good size player with an AFL-ready body, and he has inside and outside skills. Hopefully in a couple of years we will have Judd, McLean, Curnow and Cachia all able to play in-and-under footy and get the ball out of packs, with guys like Ellard and Robinson also adding some tounghness and a hard edge to the midfield.

ill start off by saying that i dont know much about him, but from the youtube video (being the only thing i can go by at this stage) his kicking action looks flawed in a sense of a slow action and the fact that he floats it up too much.
He also seemed to make a lot of decision making errors, or is it that his lack of foot skills make him look like he chose the wrong option.
Can the people in the know give us some inside on his kicking please.
As far as his inside work goes, and his character, im more that happy with it.

p.s Not having a go at the boy, and not wanting to chastise him just off 1 youtube video, but its just what i viewed.

thanks
Im not sure if this is the one you saw but it sounds like the one from 2008. Since than he has worked on his kicking to get another chance at the big time and his kicking is alot better since than!

I am not much of a Political person, so I think I will go with Alf/ET. Why you ask ???

Curnow -> Cornrow -> Crop Circles -> Aliens -> Alf or ET.

Oh and he "almost" had the Predator locks going for a while

Whilst the posts on him seem encouraging and I hope he becomes a great player must concur with Shmurph re the video footage. It was 2008 though. Perhaps he has worked on his disposal since then.

A little obvious ya think? :rolleyes:

Watched the CFC footage of Curnow (in his games against GC and the Bullants) and he looks like a fantastic player who could be a vital addition to our line up come Round 1 (provided he is the nominated rookie).

He reminds me of a quicker, more agile Daniel Kerr (... even has the same shoulder strapping). His kicking looks fine in the CFC TV footage indicating that he must have worked on it extensively over the past 2 years since that footage from Glenelg was taken.

I think he would take the place of Ellard in the egine room - as he is by far and away going to be one of our best players to win the hard ball, I also beleive he can co-exist with Brock (although I've had bad memories since of the Brock/Hadley combination during our game vs. WCE this year).

All in all, any player that you pick up over November, December that can immediatley make an impact and add to our current line up is a fantastic aquisition.

Well done to the Recruiting Team.

... even if you didn't give Proud a look-in.

Watch the vid CFC have posted on CFC TV... this was the highlights package of this year... and I can tell you now, you won't find too many highlights packages that are better...
