He has quickly become one of my favorite Carlton players. It's an absolute joy to watch him bury his way in out out of the bottom of do many packs!

I reckon the Pies will make a real effort to shut him down and cut off the supply to our other mids next weekend like they did to McLean last year. Hope his team mates step up and help him out this time.

He already had it before he got there. Broke their running records as a first year rookie.I see a lot of comments about his work ethic. Probs coz he used to play in Adelaide's squad. As much as i dislike the Crows i got to admit they do drill their players with a lot of discipline and have a very professional environment under Neil Craig so Carlton like his 2nd shot at AFL so it's not really surprising that he's relishing the opportunity.
Michael Barlow was a one of a kind freak who somehow slipped through the cracks. Just because Ed had a great 2010, doesn't mean he'll be Barlow mk II.
Expect him to be a solid player for us, don't expect him to become an top shelf midfielder like Barlow.
This annoys me.This recruiting "master stroke" is making the decision to get McLean look much less so. Based on Ed's early performances (and especially when combined with Robbo's) I'm struggling to see how McLean fits back into the side ... even if he does finally get his body right.
I love this bloke!
He runs hard, neat skills by hand and foot, knows his limitations, works both ways and is just super consistent throughout the game. A great addition to our midfield.
Too early to be claiming he will become a top shelf midfielder....?
This annoys me.
Mclean was recruited one year before Curnow.
If Curnow was that great, why was he passed up in a skinny 2009 draft?
Curnow has already been through an AFL club, so he benefited from that experience with his fitness and preparation. Still have to wonder how Ed would be rated if he had won Box Hill's B & F and placed in the Liston Medal as a teenager. Amazing that the likes of Garlett, Curnow, Barlow and Jamison can be passed up because they're not "kids".
I know that the McLean decision seemed to be the right one at the time. All I mean is that it now looks like he'll never quite make it into the role he was earmarked for, thus it's become something of a waste of a first round draft pick.
Don't mistake me for for a WH basher TG, I think he's done a great job. Especially from the rookie/pre-season drafts.
