That’s what I said I would rather keep him but if what they say about Lukosios turns out true we miss out in a generational forward talent

Would do that deal in an absolute heart beat.

Bird in the hand. I'd rather keep him as he's coming along nicely. Better that than the unknown in a draft. Langdon + whoever we get at pick 5 or so will still be better together than a single player.

The way I see it Graham Polak was in the mix to go at pick 1 in THE superdraft back in the day. No guarantees.

There is no way the club is trading Ed, nor should it. He just spoke about wanting to be a 1 club player.

I'm also hesitant investing that much into a tall in the first round. Tom Boyd, Josh Schache and Paddy McCartin were seen as generational talents also. I think we have just as much need for a marking medium forward that is clever around goals than we do a tall forward.

Taberner may not be a superstar but is a key cog we can work around. Cox continues to develop. Don't write them off.

I agree in principle. I wouldn't willingly offer Ed but...

Salem and Tyson vs J.Kelly is the recent counter argument.

Schache was a mark and kick player and to be honest I think his knock is not his football but his head.

Boyd and McCartin were physically dominant and only did it against kids.

JL is scrawny and doesn't rely on size. He is also an outstanding kick and can play both ends. Add to that he has already played well at SANFL level and I'd say he is a totally different proposition to those guys.

That said he is certainly no guarantee.

What happens if we lose cerra and langdon? sheesh.

We hire Danny Ainge on a short term contract and start trading*

*Apologies to the non-NBA crowd.

Was he doing what this kid is doing each week in a league against actual men?
I suppose this is the knock on the TAC cup as it doesn't allow the kids to suit up against seasoned bodies before being drafted. the WAFL and SANFL allows this and it gives AFL clubs an opportunity to see if it is a case of a kid in a mans body or if they can actually match it with bigger bodies and have a football brain.

As mentioned above Boyd, McCartin and Schache were all talked up as next generation players, is it a coincidence that they are all from Vic and were all in the TAC Cup with no opportunity to play against men. I wonder if it would have effected their draft ranking if they played against men the majority of their draft year like JL is?

We'd be stupid to give Eddy up. He's become an absolute star, the kid has a bright future.

Nobody hyped Boyd or any of the last 3 or 4 top 2 picks as generational players. The closest would be Rayner who at least was a consensus no 1 towards the end of the year.

This guy will have been going no. 1 for what will be 2 years by the time it happens. I'd say Kruiser was the last time there was so much hype.

Hey guys just got back from the game...i could not have been more impressed with langdon. I cannot think of a better runner in the game. Not only is he quick, but he is genuinely a fast mover. What i mean is that you have explosive pace guys like rohan who are lightning over short spaces and the you have langdon, who can maintain a really good pace his entire run. Also his work ethic is second to none right now.

Works hard, excellent runner, hard and decent skills. He is the total package
