Señor Eddie Betts currently sitting on 199 AFC Goals

Will become only the 8th Crow to reach the mark, and the 2nd quickest to do it after Modra (Betts will get there after 73 games, Modra did it in 42)
Can I guess?

D Jarman
S Welsh
M Ricciuto
T Walker
B Burton

Umm, I'm about done...

actually, McLeod???

Scott Welsh would be handy in our forward line as well, not as the main forward he had to carry when here.
He actually disappeared when playing a supporting role. Performed much better as FF and main target.

Google the journos negative about Betts and stack, Google Adam goodes with their name. See which ones targeted goodies, for which the afl has apologised for

Most of the negativity came from the same people that were negative when Melbourne players were smiling and joking around with opponents after a heavy loss.

I dont have an issue with it, but if I was the Richmond coach it wouldnt have impressed me one bit.

I understand what he's saying...but isnt what Des has said essentially racial stereotyping?

"Oh you white blokes wouldn't understand"

Can you imagine the other way around?
I will try and answer your question, but the reason I posted the link was because I thought the comments by Des were spot on. Is it racial stereotyping if it is true? We, as white people, have no real understanding of the connection generated by their shared community and history, with each other and the land. Through life experiences I have had many interactions with Indigenous people. It is like a lot of things in life, the the more you learn, the more you understand that you don't really know as much as you previously thought.

I get that, and a number of us are fully aware that we are ignorant of their culture.
That point is understandable, and very valid.

But I think the point missed here is that nobody is upset because it was aboriginal guys (except maybe a small portion who are racist anyway).
Most people were thinking that generally you dont hug and give kudos to your opponent during a game.

Afterwards, fantastic, share a laugh and a drink and a yarn...but if I were a Richmond fan I'd have been pretty upset. Its not a good look. It looks like you're not committed.

I had the same feeling when Melbourne players were laughing and joking around on the ground after getting belted (none of which were indigenous). Surely you save that for the rooms as to not annoy your fan base even further?

Put it this way, would you have been annoyed had Eddie gone up to Shane Edwards in the last quarter of the 2017 grand final and gave him a hug and a handshake?

Yes, the Melbourne players laughing and joking around was not a good look, but different than the Betts thing. That was the result of ongoing banter between the two, and a spur of the moment reaction towards an idol.

Now you just seem to be making excuses.

Are you saying that only indigenous players can have a good rapport with their opposition players?
How do you know the Dees players weren't participating in ongoing banter?

Would you be happy if we were down 5 goals in the last and Tex started having banter with Phil Davis and laughing around and hugging etc?
After all they're great mates.

I didn't really have an issue with it, simply because the game was done and dusted at that point - I suppose if Eddie's goal had put us 3 points up in the dying minutes of the game then I might not have looked at it the same way. But as it stands, I just see it as a nice bit of sportsmanship, like fielders applauding a batsman when he scores a century or something along those lines.
