It's because he is a good player, and has proved himself to be a good player over a number of years.

Betts and Tambling are like chalk and cheese in pretty much every way. Except for one very obvious way. Which I will give you the benefit of the doubt and assume is not what you meant.

Yeah, we know Rucci articles are rubbery at times, but I imagine player agents leak ball-park figures so prospective teams can actually offer more for their next contract.

The two spots where there was little to no competition: Small Forward, Ruck
Notice they happen to be the two areas we're looking at fixing first in the off-season, when at the beginning of 2013 it was speedy mid and key defender? We still need those too, but priorities have changed it seems.

Hartigan has stepped up more than the club thought he would I think. Him, Talia and a developing Siggins to go with the experience of Rutten isn't bad depth if you take into account there's also Shaw, Otten and Thompson with height.
Mids are looking pretty good too. Thompson, Douglas, Smith, Danger, Sloane, Crouch, VB, Grigg, Kerridge. Polec I would say is a 60/40 chance of coming and if he could become what many believe he is capable of them we are set. Just need Betts and a ruck man.

Haha I won't be too upset, so long as the club actively seeks other options. Like picking up a ruck man via FA (ie Bombers players - delisted FAs) and draft a small forward.
