oh god.
dangerfield is harder, probabaly the hardest player at the contest in the league, he is much quicker (crouch isnt fast), has a huge kick, is freakish when he goes forward. Good on crouch for highest poller in the last ten games, but dangerfield missed two of those games and was playing with a severely impacted shoulder. Not to mention he played out of the square 50% of the time
Crouch's ceiling will never be as high as dangerfields
but he isn't worth anywhere close to $650k a season.
Guys who play with him think otherwise.
The reason given by Tex and Jenkins at least is that Crouchy just seems to know where the ball will be, reads it better. That is a massive advantage.
He uses the ball better than Danger as well IMO.
I'm not bagging Patty at all, but after hearing Tex say he reckons Crouchy could be better made me think about it quite a bit - and its a distinct possibility IMO.

Interesting to note that in the Herald Sun today when talking about Eddie Betts, they didn't mention Adelaide as a possible suitor. Maybe Adelaide have pulled out of the race. According to the footy writers North Melbourne are offering Betts $550k, $100k more then he was on at Carlton. I can only presume Adelaide have gone cold because they don't want to pay him that much.

I don't think that's anyone's argument mate.
If money wasn't a factor do you want him?
You haven't seen much footy have you? This kid is 18-19 and performing better than any other player in our team in the last half of the season, I don't think you understand how good Crouch is going to be
When did he say that? Would like to read the article/hear the interview myself, some massive wraps for Crouch, will be very interesting to see how his second year goes.I'm not bagging Patty at all, but after hearing Tex say he reckons Crouchy could be better made me think about it quite a bit - and its a distinct possibility IMO.
Hes not third rate player, like Bootsma... but then he got a new deal before Eddie, so I guess Mick knows best.next point..
If Malthouse wants him to take a pay cut, why should we give him a pay rise? Malthouse is no fool, I can't see why we should give good coin to third rate Carlton player.

Watch these video packages then answer me.......
1) Who does AFC have as a small forward than can deliver all of this?
2)Would you like seeing Betts do this in a Crows Jumper?
Garlett re-signed in 2011 for 3 years and Yarran re-signed in 2012. Neither were offered deals before Betts, they came out of contract at different times.I think that if two small forwards are offered deals before you then it makes you third rate. Especially if your deal involves a pay cut, a pay cut that in all probabilities is so the two guys above you can fit into the salary cap..

I'll refer you back to this as you haven't answered the questions yet.
So why did he get offered a pay cut? If what is reported is true?Garlett re-signed in 2011 for 3 years and Yarran re-signed in 2012. Neither were offered deals before Betts, they came out of contract at different times.

Because I think your argument is sticking candy in front of a baby, that baby doesn't know the candy rots teeth and causes diabetes.
This guy is going to be traveling ten times a year, whats his record traveling with the precious carltank? What about showdowns? Pre lim Final intensity guaranteed, maybe a carlton fan can answer this? Thats twelve games a year we need to know this two million dollar contract will be worthy?
Two million dollars for someone who did nothing for a team ranked around where we are now and have been 3 out of the last 4 seasons...
Cheers, will have a look around for it.On MMM a few weeks back when he dragged Josh Jenkins in for a chat as well on the Rush Hour.
That would make him a fourth rate Carlton player?Carlton want Thomas.
Did dangerfield walk out on the club today![]()
Could well end up being our next "who's better - Roo or McLeod" debate. Both have their strengths & weaknesses. Both are legends of the club and multiple AA winners. For all that though, they are/were as different as chalk & cheese.Guys who play with him think otherwise.

Look up his goal kicking over the years. He is not 3rd rate as a small forward or as a player in general. He'd regularly slot in at 2nd on our list.Because I think your argument is sticking candy in front of a baby, that baby doesn't know the candy rots teeth and causes diabetes.
