Eddie has more goalsneak ability in one of his farts than Petrenko has in his whole body.

Pet's better start his pre-season now. Gonna need a big tank if he wants a spot in 2014.

Hope his manager is shopping him around to ensure he gets a first 22 spot.

With this news, he's going to be playing a lot if reserves footy if a Betts stays fit.

If you look at how Eddie Betts scores his goals, he frequently creates something from nothing. Left or right foot, in the air or on the ground. He's a prototype small forward.

Petrenko' something from nothing is a checkside on the run or a soccer in the goalsquare.

This is excellent news for the Crows. To address a pressing need without using any draft picks at a time when we had none to spend is super important.

Not to mention those who make massive assumptions about what's going on inside the Crows HQ (list management decisions, internal reviews, lack of direction etc), then use these baseless assumptions as an excuse to sink the boot into the club.

Lord knows there's enough that the club gets wrong on it's own, for which people can rightly kick the club (and yes, I agree that Trigg should have been sacked long ago). There's just no excuse for sinking the boot in based on nothing more than a tin foil hat conspiracy going round in their head, which has utterly no basis in fact. Sadly, our newly appointed moderator is one of the worst offenders when it comes to this particular behaviour.

Actually you've been far more savage on the AFC than I have. Every post that questions all our dud young players is basically tipping the bucket on the coach, recruiters, selection panel, list managers and football department as a whole.

Somehow you don't see it that way.

You've created this delusion where you think you are supportive of the club yet pour scorn on the fruits of their labours - the players they've recruited, developed and selected. This is the football clubs only reason for being, you rubbish it at every turn, and call others negative.

It's a bit like the happy delusion you built for yourself when you defended every decision Craig made resolutely but also tried to acknowledge that the club was "right" to get rid of him.

Betts and his management met with Carlton’s Football Department this morning.
Carlton recognises that as a restricted free agent, Betts may consider offers from rival clubs.

I'm not suggesting Pets is as good as Betts (he is also 3 years younger) more just a reflection of the two players.

I'd say in terms of the team, it will be Callinan out now with Pets to stay in.
