It's a constant struggle with freedom of speech and freedoms in general
Governments have used national security as an excuse to restrict freedoms ..it's the same with freedom of speech ...it's a very slippery slope ...balancing what should be considered hate speech and just a point of view you very strongly disagree with ...well are you impartial enough to make that distinction?? Judging by your posts I would say not ...and judging by mine neither am I .......so it begs the question who is ?
As Voltaire said ..I may disagree with what you say but I will defend to the death your right to say it
He's my very brief take on it
Caro and Eddie,Brayshaw have grown to dislike each other over the years.
Boys on the radio go to far with idiotic comments about a person they dislike .
People one week later jump up and down in outrage that they are promoting violence against women ..which they aren't
Waters down and makes a mockery of what is a very real and serious problem
Even Gilligan admitted that the whole system Fked up not picking this one up sooner, and that's a tick for him. And I agree Eddie is such a dumb, old world dinosaur that it is to some extent it's to be expected of him.
But do we just let statements like that go? Like when Arthur Tunstall said, when asked about having indigenous fighter box for Australia replied, "We need people who know how to use a knife and fork."
I mean really Eddie has made comments of racist, homophobic and now tacitly encouraged violence towards women content; all while being the chairman of one the most powerful clubs in our competition.
He is a buffoon, or is he? He needs to make a choice, club chairman or knockabout racist, homophobic, sexist tool.
MMM I wonder which one he will chose, or does he have a choice? Is he just a tool?
