With the president not being there wasn't the football operations manager
playing fullback on the night isn't that good enough representation from the hierarchy
IIRC Marcus Wagner is gameday operations manager.
Each to their own, I prefer to laugh at dumb campaigners that think their opinion really matters. Thanks for the laugh Beastly........people questioning Eddies commitment to the cause always make me laugh!
Um Usain Bolt runs next Saturday night in the final night of the Nitro Athletics at Albert Park , at the same time that Collingwood is playing Melbourne ( currently scheduled at the Holden Centre) but is likely to be moved to Ikon Park and become a double header at the same time?
What if Usain has already invited Eddie to attend the Nitro Athletics next Saturday night ?
What should Eddie do ?
Yes, but he would have/should have attended as one of the Participant clubs Presidents. The first ever womens football match on Friday night , was also a channel 7 event.
Meg Hutchins
Position: Defender
Height: 174cm
D.O.B: 3/2/82
Recruited From: Eastern Devils (Vic)
Last Drafted: 2016 priority selection
The story so far: One of the most experienced players on the list with a 14-year career behind her. Hutchins is an excellent defender and a genuine team leader. Coming off a torn meniscus in 2016, she is also the Women's Football Operations Manager.
He has to put food on the table for his wife and kids....give him a break. Presidency is a volunteered position....hosting TV is his job. Its not like he was sitting in the front row watching the fight....he was working.....Instead went to the Boxing.
Sorry that is bloody Pathetic by the Pres.
He always said he love having a Womens Collingwood Team but not there for 1st Game.
Looks like he does not Care and Lied
This from Pert...
"You would also know that at the game on Friday night the entire club was there.
The players from the AFL team, the players from the netball team, our board and our executive.
It was a fantastically well represented night for the club".
No need for Ed to be there only to be ridiculed and filmed constantly.
Mike Sheehan is having a bit of a dip at Eddie on SEN right now.
He was taken to task by a few callers as he suggested we had 'no representation' at the launch event and the conversation also went towards who represented us at the game on Friday night.
The amazing part of the comments was that he actually had no idea...he was going off what he had read and heard. A few sms messages came in stating Pert was at the game on Friday night, and Walsh was at the launch.
I have no idea if this is true, but neither did Sheehan.
What has happened to the day where journalists actually knew the facts before they reported on a story???
If we had no one at the launch, and no one at the game, it is pretty poor form. I just highly doubt that is the case.
Sheehan should also be a bit careful considering his daughter plays at the club. I would've thought he at least does some research before going with the story that Collingwood doesn't give a stuff about the woman's league. Last I checked, our game was the highest attended match of the weekend and the only one that was free to air.
This reminds me of the Collingwood Soccer team years ago....... lets start a mens Netball team next year for the exercise.
That's ultimately the answer.
I agree it would've been a good look for the club to have Eddie there, but he had contractual obligations which were unavoidable I assume. It's a non-issue really. The only reason it gets headlines is because it is Collingwood and Eddie McGuire.
He Knew he was not Going then why did he Rave about it being So Important in Collingwood's History?
The importance of the event in Collingwoods history, is not detracted/affected by Ed's physical whereabouts. He Knew he was not Going then why did he Rave about it being So Important in Collingwood's History?
