Before the game was a joke, they spoke about football as much as they do on TFS.
Whilst they'll be incredibly upset I'm sure, I have little respect for the simpletons that liked it.
FYI footy show is shizen too!

I loved Before the Game! Even with the panel dominated by Blues fans. And Carlton was crappy during that period, so an added benefit was watching Andy Maher, Sam Lane and even better, Dave Hughes squirm in their seats after yet another loss. Mick Molloy never let an opportunity pass to serve it up to them.

I love the way we come up with these grass roots, seat of the pants, Aussie humour TV shows in Australia. Unlike TFS, Before the Game wasn't a boys club, was comfortable viewing for female footy fans, and didn't rely on humiliating people for laughs - other than the aforementioned Carlton fans!

I wish there was a serious footy show that focussed on analysis, previews and reviews of the games and kept its nose clean of the current affair nonsense. Something to help teach people the game. Packed full of highlights.
League Teams on Foxtel has heaps of analysis.

Its going to be interesting to see what TFS try to do to save the show...

Would love it if Sam and Brayshaw were sacked and a complete fresh start... but unfortunately that won't happen.

You mean like The Sunday Footy Show? There is also Game Day on 7.

Seriously?...Goodes?
Surely a pisstake.
I'd love to see Goodes in this roll.
Everyone who personally knows him tells of his sense of humour.
And he certainly has an on field record to rival any of the numnuts that usually appear on the panel.
I watched the "who do you think you are" episode on his history, and there were times that you could see beyond the front he seems to put up.
He couldn't be worse than Brayshaw with his girly giggles and vacuous expressions.

Problem is that he's not a comfortable public speaker - he may grow into it, but I doubt it.

I'm old enough to remember Tim Watson and his first night as sport presenter on 7 news.
Talk about the classic deer in the headlights.
And yet he now handles media without issue.
I have no doubt that Goodes would apply himself, and with professional coaching, would become an asset.
As long as he doesn't push his political agenda on the show, and that goes for any presenter, then I think he would be a good fit.
I'm no fan of the way Goodes played his footy in his latter years. He is extremely lucky not to have seriously injured an opponent. But I would be supportive of him taking a larger roll in our "industry".

Watson was a terrible interviewer as a boundary rider too. Asking ridiculous questions and getting right into players personal space.

I quite like him now.
He has come a long long way.
